Evening all. I am currently adding in a pair of Luftwaffe heavy anti-aircraft guns to my 5. SS list. Wondering what your thought sare on having them limbered. As anyone put their 88s togther like that to make a different looking platoon? I am currently in the assembly stage with the gun, mount and gun shield assembled. I am using them tomorrow in a game vs. Soviet Guards heavy tank company.
Thoughts?

I built mine unlimbered. I never even bothered putting the wheels together.

There are a bunch of extra pieces that go with. Looks like a bunch of smaller boogie wheels that I would assume fit on the transport chassis. Somewhere....?
I have a pair of SS 88s in the force as well, they are on the resin bases with cruciform built onto it. These new ones are all pewter, with lots of little extras.

I was going to mount the cruciform in between the two trailers, as there are holes for on each piece for the main support leg.

I think 88's look great in action with their wheels fitted. You will have seen the photos of hem firing against British armour in North Africa - to me, that's the iconic image of the 88. It seems to have been less common to deploy them this way in NW Europe or the East, but it did happen.
I couldn't find the right photo on the net, but here's a photo of an excellent model of an 88 in action, taken from the Missing Lynx site:

That is an excellent model. I went ahead and modelled them like this. Except I went with the out riggers down. There are two pieces to the kits I am sure what to do with. Looked over at Battlefront, but I don't see the piece on any of the pictures. Ah well, can't be that important.
