I remember from 5th how it had the picture of the new Dark Eldar and some artwork; as well as giving them an entry in the army description. This was a long time before the army came out. Most of the previous ones lumped Sisters with Inq forces. If, the White Dwarf dex is a preliminary to a very distant codex, do you think they might put a teaser in by listing them as a seperate army? Which they kind of are after the WD dex. Maybe some artwork and images of waht new SOB might look like ala Dark Eldar?

That'd be cool to see in the book, but I don't think there's really any guarantee that we will get that in the rulebook.

The art and description of the Dark Eldar in the 5th ed book were perfectly in line with their 3rd ed codex.

No it wasn't. Those are what new dark eldar look like with the extra bulk and segmented armour. The image they put in was also in the new codex and depicts both new warriors and raiders with their sleek design and iconic sails. It was intended to be a teaser. It only kept up with their current lore because DE could look like that and it didn't show any new units.

This is from the psyker table leaked in the new rulebook and it has Sisters of Battle as a seperate army. That would suggest that they'll be listed with their own army description like Dark Eldar were last ed.

Since I can't copy paste pictures for some reason heres the link to the current rumours. If you scroll down then it has the table.

It'll probably talk about them specifically as any other BRB does about any other specific army...

Actually there wasn't a witchhunter one in 5th and in 4th there was only a generic forces of the Imperium for all Inq armies. So its really a very new thing for SoB to be listed as a seperate army in a rulebook. Plus a lot of people believed that getting a WD codex meant sisters were being squatted or not an actual army. This suggests they are still considered as such.

Besides I'am more interested in whether they put any teasers like they did with DE last rulebook. ie image of what new SOB look like and maybe a single piece of artwork. The proof that such an army entry exists is a good hint to me that this might happen and that they will eventually get a codex in the not too far future.

They were their own force then got dragged into Witch Hunters to apparently boost hype for the Inquisitor game, weren't they? I think the reason they all went separate here was that technically the WD codex is still its own codex. Though I highly doubt they would be stuck with it for too long, probably a couple of years at most; hopefully.

Not even a wee little hint?

I mean, how many years was it until DE came out?

We had

5th ed rulebook
Space Marines
Imperial Guard
Space Wolves
Tyranids
Blood Angels
then Dark Eldar

Wasn't Dark Eldar also two or three years after the rulebook but still had a few teasers in it?

Not really, no. Having been a SOB players since late 2nd / early 3rd, I don't expect any support for quite a while. We'll be lucky if we get a good FAQ to patch us up for 6th.

I wonder if they will buck the trend by NOT releasing a Space Marine codex directly after. Also SoB, Daemons, Tau and Eldar are the only things left in need of a serious update, and only Eldar and SoB need more plastic kits. If Daemons are going to be more of an 'alliance' force then plastic plaguebearers and they're done!

CSM is next, so it depends on whether you consider that SM or not.

SOB are actually in a really good place right now, but that may change in a week.

I don't think GW has any plans for sisters, other than to continue selling down their current stock. Apparently a decision was made at some point over the last year that it wasn't worth it for them to invest in new models or port them into finecast. They made rules for people who already had a big investment in the army, but basically they've been dropped as a going concern.

I was more talking about the sentence that begins with 'Apparently'. And obviously it was your opinion, I was just pointing out that that opinion wasn't necessarily based in fact.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a SOB plastic squad that can be built into many different units (like they did with grey knights).

GW had all but given up on Inquisitor by the time witchunters was released. Various models were discontinued by then and only a year later in 2004 the Inquisitor rulebook was made available as a free PDF.

So no I think your off the mark with that theory.
