Ok, so i just got some drop pods and are loving them so figured I'd post my list here and see if it flies.
HQ: Marneus Calgar 250
+ Honor Guard (5man) w/standard, 3 relic blades
+drop pod w/Locator Beacon 265
Chief librarian Tigerius 230
Troops: 10 man Tac squad w/ML and Flamer, Melta bombs
+Drop Pod 210 (Tiggy will join them in the pod)
10 man Tac squad w/PG and ML, Melta bombs
+Drop Pod 220
Scouts all sniper rifles w/cloaks
+Sgt. Telion 137
Elites: Assault Terminators (5man) with SS&TH 200
Dreadnought w/ Auto Cannon and CCW&SB, Extra armor
+Drop pod 165
Dreadnought w/dual AC Extra Armor 125
Heavy Support: Predator Destructor w/TL LC and LC sponsons 180
Total 1997 points
Going for a shock and awe sorta army here, i realize it's a sorta squishy army but the drop pods help get me where i want to go quickly and relatively safely. I also know that Marneus is a heap ton of points, but he's SO nice i have to take him lol.
Edited with new suggestions.

If your second dreadnought is sitting back, why not give him double AC, and is it auto cannon or assault cannon

If your planning on DS your Terminators, I would suggest getting some Teleport homers to ensure they don't mishap. Do you have a pod for your dread otherwise he'll be your only guy huffing it across the board.
Also wondering how much luck you've had with your assault marines, because they may be a liability on the turn they DS because they can only use their pistols and will get shot before they can charge

I have yet to DS my Assault marines, i kinda use them as bait since they can move around the board relatively fast. They have survived all of the games i have had them in, surprisingly. The Dread without the DP is also used as bait, and it's Assault cannon, Although i may see if I can swap in double Auto cannons, thanks.
Oh and I did forget to squeeze in a teleport homer, I think I can put a beacon on a drop pod. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok, made some changes, took off the EA from the normal Dread and swapped in double auto cannons. and added a Locator beacon to the Honor guard's Drop Pod
Total Cost came to 1997

from what it looks like you don have any heavy support, imo drop the verarable dread and just pick up another dread saves you like 65+ points I think.
Next get rid of the librarian and get a chaplain and put him with the assault terms, that way they all get a extra roll if they miss on their assault, (this is just because I LOVE chaplains haha).
Once again IMO dont take assault troops unless you are blood angles, just what i think instead use thous points to pick up some armor.
Other then that i really do like the HQ, troop, and elite choice. i just feel like you might bet destroyed by armor.

I have considered dropping the Assault squad and the landspeeder for a Predator Destructor for some anti-armor, but it would be a huge target unless i can tie some stuff up with my initial drop pod squads. Automatically Appended Next Post: FYI, my usual opponent plays Necrons and he always has 3 Doomsday Arks which are tough as hell to deal with. Usually any armor i have on the table is singled out first by them.

Calgar and tigirius are both too expensive. You may get away with having one but not both, in either case you'll need to use them more to make them worth while.
The rest of the list could be made into stuff good once you have a direction. 500 pts on 2 models doesn't really give the direction.

One thing I do in my army is take 3 vindicators only cost you 360 and it will be one ofthe scaryiest fucken thing on the field thoes doom arks will drop like flies nothing can withstand 3 ordinance shots
Automatically Appended Next Post:
But if you do what to run a deepstrike army like drop pods and such take melta guns. They can destroy armor like no ones biz. I would suggest looking at this army then go from there.

In addition if you are makeing a fast attack army, check out the new units for sm they are pretty dity units. Able to come in with any other reserive and have really good range. Sorry wrote this on an iphone lol

I hear ya, but this list's whole point is to have some fun with Calgar and Tibby, is it a tourney list, no. But I think i can deal some nice damage and have fun with it. The drop pods are there to make sure Calgar and Tibby survive long enough to get where i need them and deal some damage. Last game I played I only had Calgar and his Honor guard (no tibby) and the amount of points my opponent directed towards this squad was absolutely ridiculous. fully half his army tried to kill them and I still had Calgar at the end of the game, that makes them worth the points IMO.
Meltas aren't a bad choice, i may swap one in on one of my tac squads. I would love to run 3 Vindicators, but I only own 1 so can't really do that lol. Plus i normally run a lot of heavy armor and I am trying something different.

I hear yah if you are going for fast attack which is what it sounds like you are doing use the new flying units they are boss tl assault cannon and missles that have a range of 60. If you really want whats his face the ultra leader put him with the terms will keep him alive longer.

Just don't make my insane choice from about 2 years ago and decide that it makes perfect sense to run a Templar army with 4 Land Raiders. It sounded good on paper until all the Meltaguns started going off. Oh well lol
