Just caught the D6 gen, and really enjoyed all the shameless plugs for Summoner Wars. Anyone here playing this? I want to get my guys going on this.

Whats the best way to get started?

Hey I got it pretty recently, I started with the summoner wars master set which included play mat, rules, and 6 playable, unique races. It wa a pretty good deal and I was able to play right away.

It is shocking how easy of a game it is to play with so much positioning strategy to think about. What I really like about it is that you can buy other faction decks to expand the game and create more match ups.

I have to mirror this. I usually HATE HATE HATE card games. But without the deckbuilding component to really worry about, this game plays more like a miniature skirmish game that uses cards instead of miniatures. I highly recommend the master set as it comes with 6 decks and a beautiful playing board. I also like how there are just a few basic rules, and then everything else is on the cards.

If you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, the iOS app just came out. It's free, and lets you play one matchup (Phoenix Elves vs. (AI) Tundra Orcs). Other decks are available as in-app purchases... something like $8 for 8 decks plus reinforcements and the ability to play online. The app is pretty well done IMO
