"New" is a relative term here, there are quite a few armies out there that are very old, but could use a new codex, and/or supplements, like IMHO:

1. Witch hunters and the Sob.

Or, forces that exist only in the fluff and our hard worked conversions:

1. Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarri.
2. Adeptus Arbites
3. Xenohunters
4. Traitor Guard
5. Deathwatch
6. DKOK & other famous IG regiments.

And that's just to name a few. Who would you like to see be introduced, or worked on in the new edition of 40k?

A proper sisters codex and model line. I really like them, but I would never buy the current line.

1. I think AM would be a great codex; they've been a really popular choice in these sorts of threads for a long time. While they're another Imperium army, they're different enough that people won't whine about it.

2. I feel like I'm the only person who would buy the army of Judge Dredds. I'd love to have them included in Witchhunters though.

3 & 5. These are the same thing. Deathwatch are part of the Ordos Xenos. They're also incredibly narrow and don't need their own codex. Sternguard take their old rules and adapt them, so if you want to do a Deathwatch army you already can.

4. Rumor is that they'll be included in the new Chaos codex. "Traitor Guard" is boring though; hordes of renegades, mutants, and some traitor Guard in the mix though? That's cool stuff!

6. Death Korps will never, ever, ever be in plastic. GW doesn't do much Forgeworld adaptation anymore, and the range is complete and gorgeous from Forgeworld. I have the sneaking suspicion that the moment I finish my Valhallan infantry horde army, GW will release a Valhallan (or similar niche IG regiment) in plastic and I'll want to buy a whole new smorgasbord of them. I'd love for more plastic IG regiments but we're not exactly aching for them over here.

The sad part about the IG is that, if GW were as much as a "Models first!" company as some have claimed, why not plastics of the various IG variants? You don't need new rules or even codices. But so many people want to run Valhallans, Praetorians, DK, Tallarn, etc, that they'd gladly buy them. It's not like Marine chapters who could largely just have a recut sprue of new bits (shoulder pads and other accessories) for them rather than completely new boxes that include an entire marine. Guard armies really are that different, and vehicle add on kits could be cut as well: jungle cammo sprues, snowshoes for sentinals, etc.

However, the "new" army I'd love to see is Exodite Eldar, even if it's just a rule set included in the Eldar codex with no models ever released, the conversion challenge alone would be worth it to most.

6th edition lands on June 23rd!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

The Mechanicum would be awesome. I would like to see a wide variety of them so not just the loyal ones but possibilities for them to be heretical too, but this will never happen

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

I believe they've fully cut the non-echlesiarchy out of the SoB, so there's no more witch hunters.

Its hard to put something forward as NEW, when so many of the existing armies are so much in need of a revamp. But I'd be up for something NON Imperial NON Chaos. There are any number of races in the fluff that were encountered by something sometime. Let em come back a bit more ticked off. Not necessarily decadent, but certainly at odds with the Imperium and everything else.

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

An expansion like Apoc/Spearhead/etc that customised army lists. Exodite army = Craftworld with 0-1 on any type of vehicle, 1+ pathfinders, 0-1 aspect warriors but other units instead. Valhallan army = IG with extra orders to represent them holding the line. Deathwatch/Inquisitorial/AdMech units to go in any Imperial army. Deathskulls mean Orks cst more but have Assault 2 weapons (Or three, whichever, not sure what it is now! ). Extra races for Tau. Tyranid monstrous creature customisation.

All those little things we would love to include in regular 40K, and would convert armies for, we'd be able to play, and almost every 40K player would buy the book if it was the price of a codex...

I would quite like to see a Mechanicum codex. However I think in doing so they would have to drop a different codex somewhere else, they are barely keeping up with the number of codecies that are out as it is.

Cultists. This is the only correct answer. Chaos cults are probably the most prevalent bad guy in the universe with no current rules. Chaos Marines and Daemons are a tiny, tiny fraction of the threat to the Imperium in the fluff, but the only representatives on the tabletop. Chaos Cult needs to come back with a viable list. Genestealer Cults coming back would be a huge plus and fun.

After that, some kind of wacky new Xenos race that isn't too trite or cliche. Kinda hard to say what exactly.

If GW was going to keep the Squats after Rogue Trader, they needed to be an Imperial Guard sub-list, not their own army. Guess they still technically could do that, but that ship has long since sailed.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I think Feral Orks would make a great sub-list, and WD rules for Adeptus Arbites and Genestealer cults would make me very happy. Then again, if they did make a Chaos Cults list, you could adapt that to Genestealer cult easily enough I'm sure.

Plastic Tallarns or Valhallans/Vostroyans... That would actually make me start IG!
