The equation for the Emperor's rebirth is as follows, x=next editions number.

Erebirth=x+1

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Because of the Power of WIshlisting...

Seriously, though, there is only so long they can keep having his Throne be failing without coming out with a fixit (though that could be several editions yet ). I doubt he'll wake, as it would have to be handled veeery carefully fluffwise to have it work without sounding like certain writer's wet dreams..

'The emperor wakes up, see, and he, um , well, declares a new Crusade, and all the xenos decide on the spot that he's their boss, and worship him as a god. Chaos gets it's butt kicked because the Emperor is The Man, and repaints his armour blue, you know, just because it's better that way..'

Having him wake up, be horrified at the state of the IOM and start cleaning house internally, while the SM and Guard continue their bloody, heroic slow withdrawal could actually be quite interesting...

I dont think the emperor is going to wake up, i mean, look at his body or lack there of. Its a corpse, who knows how anyone considers it to be alive? I mean are there organs in there that are still kicking and his outer flesh is just gone?? If anything the golden throne is going to lose power, our "fail" and he is going to die. Now if i remember correctly thousands of shamans from ancient earth committed suicide to create one super being. Now they did this for various reasons but the one most pertinent to this discussion is that they werent being reborn anymore because there souls were lost to the warp which was becoming infested by chaos. But... that was just one shaman. The emperor is thousands of shamans in one. When he dies i dont think he'll simply be lost to the warp, hes too powerful, and i believe he will be reborn again. I am not sure i want to get into how that happens. Who knows? How did all the shamans souls meld into one and get inserted into an unborn souless baby? Maybe that is just how things work. I am not here to speculate the spiritual (not religious) workings of the galaxy, specifically the imperium of man.
