I have just completed my third (and due to bits limitation last assembled) marine for a custom chapter I am contemplating, my aim was to be able to carry out one scheme across a trio of differently posed/armour combinations of marines to ensure the continuity would work. I have in the past attempted marines but dropped them shortly after due to struggling to paint them consistently and well. Both the combination of scout/power armour and the colour scheme is something I would be looking to continue across a patrol force, however I would like feedback on the quality of the scheme/idea before I continue (its hard to judge your own work).

I have other pictures of WIP but currently my only image of all three painted marines is below:

C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Cheers

Unique concept.

I think the painting is quite good.

My only criticism is that I'm not a fan of the color-band on the base - feel free to ignore....

Cheers guys, I know my painting isn't mind bendingly good (I would say yet but at this point I've settled for my skill level) but I'm really happy with how these guys came out. There's something oddly satisfying about painting marines that I cant quite put my finger on.

The ring around the base thing is something I picked up a couple of years ago, these days I don't seem to feel the model is finished without it.

I'm working on a scavenger/against all odds kind of force that often has to make do with damaged/irreparable armour and salvage what they can. It lets me use a variety of armour marks and loyalist/traitor power armours with a light theme. I'm thinking a dark angel force that got separated from caliban during the heresy and beset by a faction of Iron Warriors, surviving against all odds and bonding as a unit, when eventually reunited with their brethren they eventually formed a successor faction specialising in stubborn defence of seemingly undefendable positions.

Interesting, using scout legs implace of normal is an interesting idea. I like it!

Cheers, the entire torso, legs and in some cases one of the arms are from the scout kit actually (more precisely left over from a failed Landspeeder storm). Using the power armour shoulder pads helped to bulk out the top and give a more power armoured appearance. Sadly the third marine's back was not broad enough to account for both the shoulder pads and a backpack (the angle of the pads didnt help).

I like the conversion work you've done here, it looks very connected, rather than just cut and pasted. I like the combination.
