Hello Dakka,
I am planning a fully biked white scars army and was wondering if GW still did the Space Marine Bike Squad?
I seem to remember them doing a 3 bike set but can't see anything on the site

Did they discontinue this product?
Cheers

They switched it over from metal and plastic hybrids to Finecast. Now you'd have to buy three bikes and then buy that pack if you wanted the (now Finecast) melta, plasma, and sergeant bodies. However, you can still buy the Ravenwing battleforce or squad set, which are a better value and include a great sprue for dressing the guys up.

The Ravenwing Battleforce does not include special weapons for regular bikes. It has plenty of decoration, some power swords, but thats about it.

But you can buy packs of 5 meltas from GW quite cheaply

Ahhh I see now cheers for the info guys.

Can the ravenwing box set be made to look like normal marines easily? as I'm planning on white scars and would like to make it as true to the fluff as possible

thanks

Yup, you just don't stick the Dark Angels stuff on.

Personally, I like the wing thing on the back of the bikes.

Pretty much this. Just custom make your own special weapons.

You can also grab assault marine arms and make more dramatic poses for your bikers. If you zoom in on this pic you can see examples of this.
As mentioned, the ravenwing battleforce is your cheapest way into the army.

You can find more examples in this bike army guide.

About once a month, a white scar army goes for sale on ebay (and about half of them are unpainted). That is by far, the best way to go. I have a 2k all bike army that I got from the swap shop for 300+ USD. I know that sounds expensive, but that ended up being 38 bikes, so that's less than $9 a bike. There are better deals than that to be had, but the army I got was painted to a pretty good table top standard or higher.

BTW: all bike has become my favorite (maybe not best) army. Tons of fun, especially if you like finesse forces (AKA tough to run, but so rewarding when it works).

here's mine:

Yes, i bought one for my codex marines. The bikes are normal bike sprues and all the DA bits are optional. its a great trade, since it includes many useful bits such as spare typhoon launchers, assault cannons and heavy bolters.
