For those who use Ushabti with great weapons, I am wondering how many you run in a unit as well as what formation you run them in.

Any others who use monstrous infantry feel free to comment also

Either a few units of 3 or 1-2 of 6, since they get all their attacks in 2nd rank.

If you take kalida, consider 2 units of 6 with great bows. Nasty nasty stuff.

There are lots of ways to run them.

I have seen people run a unit of three with champ in single file to hold things up and kill weak stuff. The opponent can only attack the champ, and thus do a maximum of three wounds. You will get at least three attacks back, as well as a stomp. The champ is then resurrected with the TK spell.

For hitting power, I would take 8 to 10 Ushabti in a 4 or 5 by 2 formation.

They may be a suboptimal choice, but they still hit hard and look good going it.

I've had some success with four Ushabti in a 2x2 square. You only lose a maximum of two attacks (stomps) compared to a single rank, and narrower frontage means less attacks coming your way.

Of course, being a unit of 0 ranks does have its drawbacks...
