Hello Dakka!
I am painting a Deathwatch force and using Codex SM for the rules. I have found fluff about tactical squads and dreadnaughts and instructions on how to paint them but I have a question about tanks and transports. Should I paint them in deathwatch colors? (black and silver w/company markings on it) or should I paint it in the colors of the Inquisition? Any help is greatly appreciated , Thanks in advance!

Well, the Grey Knights sport Inquisition logos on their dreads and vehicles...
In case of the Deathwatch it should be even easier since they are using the Ordo Xenos' emblem on their own armour as well. They don't have their own unique symbol.

Never heard of the Deathwatch having its own tanks and transports, though. Weren't they supposed to be just small teams of elite Marines who never deploy in large scale?

Unless you're going with FFG's vision, that is. I know that the Deathwatch is a lot larger in their books, so I suppose there is ample room for deviating interpretations, depending on which version of the fluff you want to stick to. That said, going with FFG's idea might even be safer now, as the latest GW material makes it sound as if the Deathwatch doesn't even exist anymore. :/

In terms of paint scheme, I'd go black and silver. But I would also make sure the inquisitorial =][= is prominent, maybe use some of the Forge World doors?

As Lynata said, I haven't heard of them using armoured vehicles before, but don't let that stop you, I'm sure they have some sequestered away somewhere...

I'd kind of lean towards painting them up in inquisitorial colours rather than the black, sliver and what ever your chosen chapeter is. mainly because the fluff dosnt mention deathwatch recruiting vehicles anywhere that i know of, and why call in favours from the marines to get a rhino when you can just lend them one from the pool your stormtroopers use.

However if it was smoe thing bigger like a land raider that we dont hear of the inquisition using then yeah go with the black and silver. You probably want each vehicle to be from a different chapter too as it would be a big investment for a chapeter to give up even one of its vehicles

Hmm, have Land Raiders been removed for use by Inquisitors in the GK Codex? I know they were still fair game in the 3E Witch Hunters book.

That's a very neat idea to circumvent that problem.

You have a point, I always thought of the landraiders as belonging to the GK's but thats just a personal thing

Well, they could've changed it in the latest Codex - I really have no clue on that!
