So everyone is out to get more for their wargaming buck, In talking with a close friend of mine and looking at getting a new army, we thought what is the most number of armies you could play with the least number of different models.
And this is the list we came up
Deathwatch (Inquisition) Army
Codex Used : Grey Knights, Sisters Of Battle, Space Marines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Black Templar.
13th Company Army
Codex Used: Space Wolves or Chaos Space Marines
Pre Heresy : Megarachnid Army
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Megarachnids#.T8T7Ib_Mo4o
Codex Used: Necron or Tyrnaid
Pre Hersey : Interex Army
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Interex#.T8T9VL_Mo4o
Codex Used: Eldar or Tau
So the ones we are having problems with Ork and Imperial Guard? Any other ideas?

Lone Wolf Sentinel Pilot
Southampton, Hampshire, England, British Isles, Europe, Earth, Sol, Sector 001
|
Adeptus Arbites all lead by the Inspector Maxus armed with shotguns and gl's? That would be a job for the Imperial Guard codex (a shotgun vet reg lead by a LC).
Valks could be like police chopper with stometroopers being a SWAT team. Ruff riders could be like biker cops. And the LRBT could be, well a LRBT

That army would look cool, but would only be one codex IG and Adeptus Arbites for a whole army would cost a first born.
What about (if you could afford it)
Adepus Arbites
Codex (Orks & IG)
You use the bikes, copters, and Warbuggys (swat vans) for orks and a more elite swat version would be your IG idea?

You only really need Guard for Arbites, Vets with shotguns and carapace armour, stuff them in a chimera if you like. I am not sure if Arbites have a SWAT equivalent, but if they do Storm Troopers would work fine. Honestly no other codex comes anywhere near as close to representing Arbites than Guard or possibly a marine army with tons of scouts with shotguns.

Legio Cybernetica! The elite robot army (with human handlers of course!)! Space Marines, Chaos Marines, IG, Necrons, Nids (for the whole "in range of a remote control"). Sisters (Omnissah = St. Celestine).

An alternative for the Arbites counts as codex would be GK henchman build. Far more options for the infantry to be represented, the largest downside being the lack of bs4 for basic troops and a max of 6 squads. DCA/arco flags for cyber hounds, crusaders as riot guys, and stormboler/hot shot lasgun for the special ammo they use in shotguns.
Where it kinda fails is in terms of the armor you can bring, I use repressors as counts as chimeras and the storm raven rules to represent a valk that has modded for close support in a city. (improved armor and all)

Arbites have access to a certain type of Rhino, and I think a varient of the Exorcist IIRC (might just be the Rhino though) But GK would be good for Arbites I think, SRs represent choppers maybe, I think the Arbites have Stormshields so crusaders would find a use.

I'm currently trying out modelling for an Ork/Space Marine army - Squads of shoota Boyz with looted pauldrons & backpacks that can double as SMs with boltguns. You've got the rocket launcher parallels already, with magnetising for the other SM special weapons.
If it works it's really going to take a load off my wallet, as they're the two armies I collect.

Dark Blood Knight Wolf Angels. They are all women and possibly have a secret curse/mutation/agenda. Counts as anything in power armor.

You mean Angry Dark Chaos Space Blood Knight Wolf Angel Marines, right?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Anti-Armour Swiss Guard
|
Spiky Dark Black Space Blood Wolf Angel Templars.
Using Codex: Tau.
Just because.
The concept alone doesn't suck enough - so use the suckiest codex to add more.
