This came up at my clubs gaming night.

Can a Storm Talon outflank if it escorts an outflanking unit (EG Scout bikes, Shrike was also mentioned...)

I was under the impression of 'no, it can't, as it would still need to possess the Scouts rule.'

However, I was eventually argued down as it is only specifically barred from Deep Striking and ultimately, outflanking is still a reserves roll...

Any thoughts, either way?

I think it can as It seems to function as an independent character

The Escort rule lets it come in within X inches of a unit that arrives from reserve. (Or something to that effect.)

Outflanking units arrive from reserve.

The Talon has a specific restriction barring it from escorting a DSing unit. but that is the only restriction.

Escort can be used to escort an outflanking unit.

It is "escorting", not Outflanking, so does not need to possess Scout / INfiltratre. Outflank in order to arrive within 6" of the escorted model
