Hello all,

I've decided to expand my horizons and give FoW a go.

After reading mwnciboo's awesome guide to starting a game I've opted for build a list around the Tigers Marsch box set because I like tanks and I'm also a cheapskate

It probably won't be until July/August that I can get the box set but at the moment I have the cash to pick up the infantry and/or the AAA so I can get cracking on painting. However, I have no idea what infantry/AAA I need and would like to create a list in Easy Army so I will know what to buy.

So, can anyone tell me what I need to unlock in Easy Army to be able to create my list?

I would imagine the lists you would need would be the earth and steel ones. Has identical lists to the ones in the tigers marsch box set if I'm not mistaken. That said, if you don't want to spend a ton of money have you considered buying from the Plastic Soldier Company? For the price of a new tiger set, you could pick up a very solid core to a normal panzerkompanie (a couple boxes of panzer 4's and/or panthers) with some half track infantry to boot. Just something to consider and good luck with FoW

Just my 2 cents

PSC does not produce Tigers, yet, though they have them on the schedule. If You do not have the patience and admit to be cheapskate, try Point of Contact Diecast 1:100 Tigers. They come prepainted in several color-schemes, the only issue is the absence of zimmerit and that sometimes there are gaps which need to be filled. They cost around 20 GBP for 5 tanks on e-bay (including shipping from US).

Here's a small review of them

Btw, if You are not dead-set on Tiger's Marsch, then in fact ANY Schwere Tank Kompanie list might suit, such as, for example,. the list from Grey Wolf. All HQ and Combat Platoons are Tiger IE or Konigstiger there and You get a lot of support options.

Game Models do both Tiger I & II for $5 each. I don't have them, but they look pretty good.

The biggest difference between the 2 Schwere Pz lists in Earth & Steel and Grey Wolf is the E&S list allows you to mix Tiger I & IIs within the same company, whereas the GW one does not. Tiger IIs in the E&S list also have the Porsche turret, so have 1 less front armor and are 5pts cheaper.

You can also use the free Tunisian Tigers list on easyarmy for a MW Schwere Pz co., which represnts the Tigers in Tunisia/Sicily/Italy.

I expect another LW Schwere Pz list or two in the upcoming Devil's Charge book.

It is, however it lacks the ability to stop you from taking "illegal" options and lacks special rules. You have to have a copy of the book to double-check your lists from there.

I think orkboy232 was suggesting purchasing a core of a LW panzerkompanie from PSC with the $80 for the Tiger set from BF. This is definitely something you could do, as you can get 10 Panzer IV tanks and 5 Panther tanks from PSC for about $75. This would form a solid core for a LW Panzerkompanie, probably more so than the Tigers would.

Though I do not own any myself, I have seen some of their Panzer IIIs and Panzer IVs. They looked good for their price, though are noticeably less detailed than BF or PSC tanks.

That is indeed what I was saying. Personally I'm waiting for PSC to release the tiger box to start my schwere panzerkompanie

Grey Wolf also has Panzer Regiment Bake for when you want to mix a few Panthers in with your Tigers.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

I'm not a cheapskate really, it's just that the idea of getting nearly everything for an army in one box for £40 (or less) is appealling.
I've actually just found these so I now have to decide if the tokens and book you get in Tigers Marsch are worth an extra £10.

Well, if Your remaining tanks will be on bases then Forged in Battle is the way to go. Otherway, they might be looking a bit odd as being the only one mounted on the base (they come precasted with their bases already on).

Yes, they will look like the Puma on the right (Puma is right from the box)

The Point of Contact Tigers are pre-painted (albiet very poorly) but the best thing is the decals. I was able to decal my GW Panzerkompanie army with the amount of decals it comes with. Makes me want to buy more as the price of the amount of decals you get is about the same price you would spend in getting them from other companies and the tank are like a bonus.
