Asking out of curiosity as, well my Beastmen are in my GW case, my LOTR models are in a small plastic tray that I used to carry Star Wars models in back when that game was alive.

Just wondering. As -neither- could fix the beast that is my Carnivean. Or Nephilium Soldier.

What do you use?

I've sold so many armies. :(

Personally I use the battlefoam case. The only thing I use that doesn't fit it fully built is the Deathjack and I've built that with magnetized arms so it fits fine. Terminus on the other hand won't at all, but I'll figure something out for him.

The other main option I've seen people use is KR multicases. But a mate used to have KR and found it was rubbing paint off so went battlefoam as well.

That's all personal though and it seems that KR is doing well with some people, particularly some podcasters love the stuff

I love the batle foam bag, but it is a big investment if you are going to keep your collection small ( yeah right!) . I also carry Sabol bags with a list Ive already planned out. I dont like carring my entire 60 lb. collection to play a skirmish game. The KR's are something I want to check out, just not sold on cardboard boxes as carrying cases.

I've been messing around with foam for years and I don't really like it - it takes up a lot of space, models tend to get stuck, it's expensive, , the models rub against the foam and get damaged, etc.

Lately I've been attaching magnets to the bottom of my models and carrying them around in lightweight metal containers (usually I go to the grocery store and find some cheap tin and then discard or eat the content - just be sure to take a magnet with you, as most of these containers are actually tin and therefore are not magnetic). If you have a container you like that's not magnetic, such as tin, plastic or wood, you can also glue some cheap washers to your container.

I think this is realistic for a game like Warmachine or Hordes where you have a relatively low model count. It's cheaper than buying expensive foam cases and carries a number of advantages (basically, it doesn't do any of the bad things I've listed above about foam).

You know whats awesome about the magnets and the metal trays? traveling with them Just make sure you put a magnet on your glue and have that with you at all times.

tTook a trip out to Game Empire Pasadena with a buddy that does this for his Cygnar. We pull up, open the back door, and see a pile of bodies in a tray. I guess this can work if you dont go very far to play your games.

I've never had a problem, and that includes both biking and taking the subway, which are probably both more turbulent than just putting them in a car. But it's not for everyone, I guess.

I've traveled with mine fairly extensively*, and only had a problem once. The toolbox shifted in the back end, and when I opened the tailgate, it tumbled out. Even then, most of the models made it through okay, although I am thinking of some ways to improve on it.

* I drive about 25 miles each way to my FLGS, which is an improvement over the 65 miles each way. They go a couple hundred miles at a time several times per year.

Naturally, YMMV.

My official faction choice is "All of the above"

Wouldn't be without my KR cases.

If you remain unconvinced by the card ones then I THINK there's still a video on KR's site. They take the base and put a half dozen eggs in it.....then get in a van and drop it out of the window onto the road whilst moving. Not only is the case fine.....so are the eggs.

The foam's a good modular system, they're reasonably priced....yeah.....love KR.

Battlefoam. I've got both the Warmachine and Hordes branded versions, planning on getting more.
