Ok, sometimes I create an excuse to put object source lighting on a mini that doesn't necessarily call for it. But then, sometimes there are minis that just scream for it, and I feel like I've done them a disservice if it isn't included.
The Dark Eldar Mandrakes are exactly those kinds of minis. Here are a few that I did with various colors of light:

These look great, it looks like you have mastered the technique, each model has a good balance of light.
Thank you for sharing your excellent examples of the technique!

Thanks. OSL is one of my favorite techniques, and overall I think it can add quite a bit of depth to a lot of minis.

Well you did a great job adding depth to yours. I find that the better the OSL technique, the easier it looks like to do. Fantastic job.

OSL looks really fake to me when it is overdone. These are all spot-on though, the lighting is subtle enough to be realistic but still very noticeable and they all look fantastic! Nice job.

These look amazing. Easily some of the best OSL I've seen. They really look like they're lit up.

Yeah, I think the green one photographed particularly well.
It's a bit of a shame for the photos, but the pink and purple ones ended up lighting their backs a little more than their fronts.

I love the Mandrake on the right of the middle picture. And I reckon if you re-photographed the Archon in a dark setting, he would fit in perfectly, as the light would be shining all over him.
