I head like way back in the day that lore said librarians where created by the offspring of human and eldar, im talking like 2nd edition, then later GW ret coned that all and just said they where gifted phykers. can anyone confirm this?

I doubt it because they were also said to carry the same genes as the emperor. Otherwise known as the sensei's. But they allegedly dont exist now either. Gotta love how gw cant get its story straight

I don't believe that was ever the case. The only mention of a half Eldar I can think of was that one SM SC from Rogue Trader.

Yeah, there was, way back in the day, a UM Librarian who was half-eldar, back when 40K was basically a fantasy game in space and half-elves weren't that big a deal, but that's now no longer the case.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

He wasn't actually an Ultramarine. He was an Astropath assigned to the Ultramarines. He had been with the Dark Angels previously. The picture had him in Ultramarines power armor because the fluff behind Space Marines was significantly different, and the power armor and colors were just the uniform of the Ultramarines, and not a distinctive heraldry like they are now.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Currently, the lore would have it that Magnus set them up Pre-Heresy.

In Chapter's Due, there's some woman who's part eldar, but I don't think a human/eldar child would be selected to be a space marine. In fact, it would probably be shot.

I don't remember them ever stating what race she was...
At any rate the Eldar/Human hybrid was retconned...

But she wasn't a Space Marine, she was a Chaos pirate.

I know, but my point was that you couldn't have a half eldar half human librarian, since it would be found out during the selection process and killed, therefore decreasing it's chances
of becoming a librarian dramatically

And you'd be wrong.

It's established canon.

In fact here he is now.

Also BTW the Ultras turned heretic and were replaced.

Also they live on a desert planet with sand worms.

Everything else is just Imperial Propeganda!

Old superseded fluff is now irrelevant!

It now, sadly, never happened...
