Hey guys.

I've posted a few links on Dakka before. My friend and I have a website where we talk about a bunch of stuff gaming, movies, TV and War-games/Board-games. We put up our first Infinity video chronicling our first experience with the game. We will be focusing on Infinity for the month of June as we learn how to play the game. Were also going to write a few articles about it.

Good job guys. I even left a few comments for you about smoke grenades and shotguns. You right and wrong on the shotguns!

How so?

A guy was killed by a shotgun but then they thought it only used the template. It's not a direct template weapon. The template goes out from the figure initially hit. Like exploding out his back to then kill his buddies behind him.

hehe haven't got a chance to watch past the 1 min mark (dang work and it's workiness), but I will note that Yu-Jing is pronouced "Jew Jing" lol

haha correct, but most people accents have no business trying to pronounce Chinese. For a lot of folks that would come out of their mouth more like "DuhJoo Tiching"

Haha, i never thought of that Blue. I imagine that's particularly difficult with any US accent actually.

Thinking there's a "US accent" is pretty funny, actually!

On the game it's self the shotgun thing was already brought up ,but sifting though I didn't any other major issues. I would suggest when a model is knocked unconcious that you keep it standing up, but place wound markers (on unconcious marker) and a prone marker next to it. The model is technically still there and is considered the size of your base. Tipping it on it's side, while looking cool, loses the position of where the model is prone.

Of course if you don't have a doctor/engineer then if you opponent agrees you can just remove it.

heh travel around the US and you'll learn very fast there is. Meet a uptight brit and you'll learn that we are more relaxed in our pronunciation. A brit trying to talk ghetto is halarious though. Have one say "I'm gonna bust a cap in your ***" and you'll get a good laugh.

That's pretty funny - as I have traveled extensively around the US.

My point was that I'd love to know what the "US Accent" is, as I've had a hard time believing that some of the people in Mississippi were speaking English with me!

So, is the "US Accent" a Southern Drawl?

A Midwestern thing?

A New England one?

The "US Accent" i have found is the impression overseas that like we all like talk like valley schoolgirl, ya know like OMG? lol

I don't some folks understand how many accents we have based on where you are. I get a laugh when people tell me I have a "midwestern accent".. didn't even know that existed

Actually you might both be correct. They haven't said whether the Chinese language in the future is Mandarin! Well it probably is but China actually has many dialects and languages. I know by being a Tai Chi instructor. Also known as Taiji (Tie G).

As far as the US accent thing goes people in New Jersey and people in New York sound completely different but maybe that's just me.

As far as the "Cough" video goes firstly thanks for taking the time to watch/comment. We really loved the game and have since had time to go over the rules a little better. Secondly we dug the game so much were basically stalling on the other game systems we played and will be focusing on Infinity for basically all of June. I will keep updating this thread whenever an article/video/batrep is posted!

I play 7 different game systems, so I know your pain. Getting Infinity matches in usually means I go weeks without playing any of my other games. We're lucky here in Colorado though with a large population of Infinity players. You can pretty much get a pickup match at 3-4 different stores within a 45min radius on certain nights, plus we have a Colorado based gaming site to preplan matches and events.

I'm really looking forward to the next one, especially now you have a better grasp of the rules!
And no offence meant by the 'any US accent' comment, i realised you were Canadian when i heard you but i was just addressing Blue.

Also, CDK, 'Dju Tching' is actually in one of the rulebooks somewhere. I imagine they speak Mandarin but it'll be extremely evolved. It's probably only things like names of nations that get the archaic spellings and pronunciation. I'd expect that most Human Sphere citizens can openly communicate in a language they all understand to some degree, maybe a descendant of Singlish.

In the not so grim dark of the feature they speak only in Ebonics and Jive.

I do make a point of checking the forums/YouTube where I post our batreps from time to time to respond to comments. However comments posted on our site will actually draw the attention of the rest of the team as well as the guy whose been winning all our games. When playing with civilans or whatever target that you need to sync, the general rule is that you cannot deploy any kind of unit (infiltrator, airborne) in an 8 inches area around the civilian (his/her ZoC basically)

Like this, you can limit the infiltrator deployment, so that the player with more infiltrators gets the lead too soon.

Besides, playing that kind of mission on an open air scenario allows the defender to place some snipers or HMG in strategic places in order to be able to cover some of the civilians

PS: it's Alguacil, not Algulacil. I know some spanish words may be complicated, but you guys make them even harder to pronounce!

I looked up Alquacil and in English it means roughly Bailif. Which is an old English name for Police.

You guys were right about that board and infiltrators too. Totally agree with you.

We finally got our newest video up on our site. We also finally got our first army lists built up and busted them out for the first time. We still have a lot to learn though. Based on feedback we got about the videos we changed the format a bit to show what we do during turns instead of just re-capping. I'd be lying if I said it worked 100% but were going to keep at it until we nail it. Anyway let us know what you think either here or on our site.
