You can use it every one of your turns in your shooting phase. You can use it on a different target each turn if you like as long as the target is within 18" and LOS (and you roll the 3+).

Not sure if they will realease a model now as, with the Scythe kit coming out, the only models missing are a couple of ICs.

Most people seem to be converting an Anrakyr form the Lord model that comes in the barge kit.

Reading the Codex.. it does not say that Mind in the Machine is a "shooting attack" just says to use it at the start of your shooting phase. so is it a shooting attack? if this has already been answered can some one point me in the direction ? Thanks

I was having this exact discussion with a friend of mine the other day.

I would say it is not a shooting attack. So he should be able to use this, then shoot his Tachyon Arrow in the same turn.

He says because the thinks the whole necorn army is cheating.

It isnt a shooting attack. This means you can fly over in a CCB, sweeping unit A, disembark and MitM target unit B, then shoot the arrow at unit C and if that were a transport vehicle carrying troops and it is destoryed, then assaut unit D inside.

Yeah, MitM is definitely not a shooting attack.
This also means you cannot use it while embarked in CBC though, as per FAQ.

I agree that it isn't a shooting attack,, because if you look at NightMare Shroud .. it says " the nightmare shroud can be used in the shooting phase instead of firing a weapon .. "

Automatically Appended Next Post:
right yeah i know the can't be used in the CCB per FAQ .. but i would like to use it like Nosferatu101 stated if at posible.

Gonna run mine in a CCB anyway, he doesn't really offer anything to a unit he joins (no res orb and a 3+ save)

All this is assuming you only moved 12" of course.

I agree he is better in a CCB then attached to a unit.. and yep thats a " IF you only move 12" last time i played a CCB i always moved 18" that way i could get the cover save from " flat out " plus if they try and assault it .. they only hit on a 6" but we can get that from moving 12

@ Necronmike

CCB is a skimmer transport yes?

If it is then all you need to do is move more than 12" for the 4+ cover save.

Bikes and Jetbikes need to move 18+" to get a 3+ cover save.

CCB is not a bike or jetbike.

CCB is a fast Skimmer (so Flat out can be up to 24"). I Only realised this the other day.

At that speed you can still sweep attack (hits on a 4+), get a 4+ cover save, and CC will only hit on 6.

but you cant shoot or disembark obviously.

@ Kwi.. yeah its a fast skimmer, it just so happen that moving at 18" worked good for getting the sweep attack, and the cover save and getting distance just incase they tryed to assault it.. was trying to make sure they would miss the 6" assault move. if that makes since. but i thought the Big rule book says Flat out moves is between 18" and 24" i'll have to look that up again. i don't think a reg skimmer can move past 12" if it don't have the " fast " listed with it?

Skimmers may move up to 12"

Fast vehicles may move up to 18"

Fast skimmers may move up to 24"

Flat Out is anything over 12", and for fast skimmers they also gain the cover save. You've getting mixed up with Flat Out and Turboboost - the latter requires you to be 18"+ away

oh yes.. you are correct.. noted its flat out not turbo boost.. so i could have moved 12 1/2 and get the cover save lol. but it kept me out of assault reach so it worked great.. killed two land speeders, 2 tanks and did some hits on a unit and killed a preist .. so yeah CCB sweep attack is good tool.

I plan on using it for the first time next week. You need to be quite aggressive with it though which is counter to how i usually play.
