South Texas

I just got my first LSS in tuesday, and I have been slowly putting it together. I've come across a few areas that I have questions about.
1. Did anybody else's land speeder have to be bent down, as in the nose and butt of the speeder were pulled down for more room in the cargo area so the benches would fit in?
2. Suggestions on an easier time painting the thing, I have not started yet but I can already see the difficult spots?
3. I am doing a quartered theme for my army so I was wondering, should I do a quartered theme on the vehicles (not just land speeders I got some tanks too) or different patterns for each vehicle respectivly?

Sorry if some of this didnt make sence, I'm kinda brain fried working outside in south Texas.

Thanks for any responces, Peace.

1.) The old SM Landspeeder has the same issue. I think the ravenwing kit still comes with the old version, and if you compare the sprues of the old against the new, the problems are obvious and glaring. I assembled the new version of the landspeeder and it went together like a dream. The old version needed the be threatened, cajoled, tortured and beaten into submission. I expect the storm suffers from the same issue even though it is a "newer" model, simply by the fact that it's got a lot of surface area that probably wants to warp.

2.) if there are going to be problem spots, so long as you are sure that you won't be doing too much glueing, you can try giving that area a low TT quality paintjob. in theory, it's going to be in shadow/out of sight, and this being the case, all you are doing is making it easier to get at the shadow. Without more information, I'm not sure where your problem is.

3.) That's your call. You want a cohesive theme for your army, but for my quartered theme, all of my vehicles are identical, except for the turrets. I figure you want something to distniguish the vehicles to keep track of any damage they take in game, otherwise it's your call. It's a lot of open surface though, so you might want to get yourself some tape.

As for painting hard to reach spots, I painted the interiors and scouts separate first before gluing it all down, then paint the exterior. It will take a lot of time.
