Hey Dakka, was wondering if my list looked good? It's not competitive, even if I might enter it into some tournaments. What do you think?

Well, I want a Contemptor in my army, there are too many things competeing for my elites, it's not a bad choice at all, and I didn't want another Vindicator. I also hate Predators and Whirlwinds. It's great support fire. Hell, it'll tear down anything with 12 Kheres assault cannon shots and 2 CML shots.

Last time I checked, Dreadnoughts can only be taken as heavy support if you play blood angels or you have a master of the forge in your army for vanilla marines.

Are those even legal in standard games? I thought they required the Forgeworld books to use.? Meaning you'd have to get your opponents approval before being able to field it in a game. And/or if you're playing an Apocalypse game.

@Big Mek - The Mortis pattern Contemptor can be taken in heavy support.

@Fexor - I think at my FLGS, they do allow Forgeworld stuff in tournaments. Regardless, I'll mostly be doing friendly games, and some small tournies. (if they don't allow them, by then I'll most likely have enough to use other units instead)

I would downgrade the two Venerable Dreadnoughts to regular Dreadnoughts, drop the Extra Armor on the Contemptor, and use the points saving to buy a third Dreadnought. Quantity has a quality all its own.

Is filling up my Elite's slot really worth it though? I wanted to fill that slot with some Termies in all honesty. I have definitely considered downgrading the Venerables, but I don't know what I'd spend the points on
