Hello,
playing the Tau tommorow and Ive made up a list Im not too sure how it will perform, so I want to ask for your opinions.

HQ
Vangard – 160
7 Lychguard, hyperphase swords,disp. Shields – 315
Necron Lord, warscythe, res. Orb - 75

Overlord, Warscythe, Semp. Weave – 115
 on a catacomb command barge – 80

Doomsday Arc – 175

15 warriors – 195

5 immortals – 85

1200 points

The plan is to deep strike the Lychguard unit to the Tau and lock his main shooting unit ASAP, with the Command Barge getting there asap, while being supported by the warriors, immortals and doomsday. Comments ? Cheers

And a little update, he just informed he received some new broadsides and skyrays, and I know he already has about 4 vehicles he likes to field, so it will be a heavy mechanized list

I don't think a Doomsday Ark is really going to be your best choice.
A Doom Scythe would be a better choice at the same point cost, giving you a chance to hit multiple vehicles with the Death Ray, and also some extra damage with the Tesla Destructor.
Also, if it's a mechanized list, warscythes on your lychguard would be a better choice.

those will be there to tie up his broadsides and suits things. The vehicles will have to be taken out by those rolling 6's from gauss weapons and vangard / overlord's warscythe

I wouldn't depend on two Warscythes to take down all the vehicles. If you're looking just to tie up units in CC, Wraiths with whip coils are a much better choice, and they'd be likely to actually kill off a few models. Double the wounds and a 3+/3++ instead of a 3+/4++ with a 5+ get back up.
6 Wraiths with 4 whip coils would be cheaper than a 7-man Lychguard squad, and they're jump infantry so they can get across the table and into assault as quickly as Varguard with his Veil.
The only reason I'd take the Lychguard against Tau would be for the reflection from the shields, but if you're in 6" range, you may as well just assault.

Got ya, and I totally agree. Unfortunatly I do not, as of yet, have wraithguard :/ this is all i have, the only thing IM not fielding are 5 scarab bases and a Stalker, which is for the 150 points practically useless.

A S8 AP1 Heavy 2 is useless against a mech-heavy army?

Not useless, but for 150points its overpriced for what it performs IMO

While it is geared towards a more shooty army, it could help you a LOT against a largely mech list.
The Doomsday is more expensive, and definitely not worth it if you're planning on trying to get the broadsides into CC quickly, as they're the main target for the blast weapon.

In any case, depending on 6's to glance is not at all worth it, especially when you'll have to be incredibly close with your warriors to get any amount of shooting against it. You will have to roll 5's and 6's on the damage chart to be doing anything really useful, and they'll burst cannon (or similar, I'm not super familiar with the specifics of their weapons, I just know what they feel like punching into my units) your face off when you're within range to even get those shots off.

At the very least I'd suggest more true anti-vehicle that isn't just dumb luck from your troops' guns.

Ok tis is my final build. Please gemme any feedback
Its a small army, relying on the Lychguard being teleported forward and Anrakyr annoying everyone with some solid firebase. If that fails, the game is over for me

HQ
Vangard Obyron– 160
7 Lychguard, hyperphase swords,disp. Shields – 315
Necron Lord, warscythe, res. Orb - 75
Cryptek, Harb. of dispair, Nightshroud, Veil of darkness - 60

Anrakyr The Traveler - 165
- on a Catacomb Command Barge - 80

9 Necron Warriors - 117

9 Necron Warriors - 117

Stalker - 150
