Well, they are based, but I obviously need to work on my rust effects-- not to mention my photography, lol.

EDIT: Or did you mean like a scenic base for the unit?

I think they look very nice. Always good to see some ron warriors.
I find it quite hillarious that someone would mark a deadly close combat gauntlet with "caution stripes".

Looking good. The yellow looks a little bright for cation stripes. I also love the cation claw. I think it is to remind him its there for whenn he gets ready to pee.

I like the work on these models. Seriously, you've done a great job. My only complaint is the stripes. While they are expertly painted on, I believe the color is a tiny bit off. You seem to have gone with a neon, fishing-bobber sort of yellow. I think that the color doesn't jibe with the rest of the model, and would recommend a more subdued, construction yellow, but that's just me. Don't think I'm dogging on you, though, because this is some seriously good stuff.

yeah i can see that the bases are done with that textured metal or plasticard.

since your color scheme is really dark, using a lighter base color might set the 2 apart a bit more. maybe some hazard stripes you do so wel

Yeah, a friend of mine said the same thing. Do you have any suggestions for a darker yellow? I was using a vallejo yellow over the Averlund Sunset base. He suggested trying a red wash over it.

I'm going to repaint the bases. I was experimenting with rust effects by just drying brushing leadbelcher over Rhinox hide and then dusting it with Trollslayer orange mixed with a glaze medium. This time I plan on doing them in solid leadbelcher, then highlighting that with runesteel to lighten it. Then I will paint on the rust effects in a 3 step of Rhinox hide=>Skrag Brown=> Trollslayer Orange.

I'm curious how did you make your base color? Its hard to tell if its black mix or a silver mix.

Great work, I LOVE the fact that you've got the taste for Iron Warriors, especially with the death of the 'OMFG HEAVVIE SUPPORT SPAM!!11!' power lists from the previous codex.

If I could recommend a few things:

Firstly, some washes, try a light devlan mud or badab black wash , it'll help to develop the great hazard stripe work you've done, and will hopefully bring those areas into the greater model.

At the moment they seem a little too bright and stick out, which is a shame as you have seriously got a knack for doing them, which is more than I can say for most people!

Secondly and this is only me, highlight your trim metals, the 'copper/gold' colour looks fantastic as the trim, but will look jaw-dropping with some highlights.

Thirdly, a consistent rim colour would be good, preferably black. This will contrast and give your diamond plate base work

Other than that, fantastic job!

It's just Leadbelcher over black primer.

Thanks, Iron Warriors have always been my favorite legion. Now that I'm getting back into the game (after an absence of a couple of years) I've decided to do them right.
I think you're right. Everyone tells me the yellow is too bright, so I'm gonna dial it back with a wash.
The trim metals actually are highlighted, it's just very difficult to make this out in my somewhat less than remarkable photography. I may go over them one more time, add a thin line down the center.
With regard to the rim, yeah, I am just going to repaint the entire base. I was experimenting with rust effects; didn't turn out like I wanted.

I like them a lot... My only suggestion is to drill the gun barrels... It's easy and I think it adds to realism. I love the bases, if it's possible I would like a close-up picture of them.
