So I've just got the ravenwing boxed set and I would like some advice on a couple of things.

1. How do you people arm them?
2. How do you deploy them , outflank? or maybe scout move and deathwing assault?

ok, I should have really added how I was thinking of using them


6 Bikers + MM attack bike with 2xFlamers and PW/MB or PF

It gives me some nice deployment options. I can outflank and make my deploy more centrally. I can scout move them and drop 2 Terminator squads in my opponents face turn 1.

I've yet to use bikes at all in my short 40k career. Any general advice out there?

Flamers mean you have to get close.
Meltas also mean you have to get close, though a dead tank may worth it.
Being close leads to cc which leads to the bike squad dying usually fairly cheaply.

I would recommend plasmaguns or meltas.
meltabombs can be useful though fists are not really going to be worth the points.
Apothecary is also nice.
Never bring the landspeeder with them.

DWA is mostly not the best idea, which limits the joys of the homer. With deathwing I would keep them together and rely on the CML, with all other units be them bikes or whatever needs to support them.

I know they're not exactly good in assault, but T5 and FNP is something?

I don't use deathwing in my army. I go pure ravens. And like the previous post said. I don't arm them with anything that requires them to be close. But I do use speeders. I've found several uses for them

So you're planning on a 'Dualwing' army, i.e. Ravenwing and Deathwing supporting each other? Then they do need to synergise - so how are your Deathwing equipped?
