Someone told me that the new Flyrant kit's tail is suppose to count as a lashing whip and bone sword. Is that what GW intended or it just to look cool? If GW did not intend for that I don't mind counting it as such in games for fun but would a tournament accept that explanation? Or for that matter would you?

The flyrant's tail is no different to the normal tail. Are they suggesting that all tyrants have a lashwhip and bonesword? And how they hell are they getting bonesword from that tail?

Who told you this? They're full of it.

However, it does look like the flyrant's feet are supposed to be scything talons.

It was just some online. The problem is that the current model cannot carry a bone sword, a gun and wings. Even though that is a legal build

Put the bone-sword and lashwhip arms in place of the legs.

What he said. The legs on the Flyrant model are actually Scything Talons.

I have not seen a model done like that. How does it look? Does anyone have a pic?

Thanks

I think it'd look pretty weird to be honest.

Now you have that toughest call - aesthetics vs table-top effectiveness....

No I meant with bone swords at the feet (or maybe the wings at the feet? so you can have a sword and a gun)

When it comes to any flying Tyranid model the top most arms are always the wings. No one can tell you to do it otherwise if you like, but I know fluffwise its always done as the top most arm socket. You could easily put the Bone Sword arms where the legs should go if you like. It doesn't really matter. Just mess around with the options before actually gluing it that way you can actually make it look somewhat cool.
