I am looking at creating a Raptors chapter after reading about them on the lexicon and 40k wiki. I was wondering of you guys knew where I could get more information about their fluff or any books they are in. Also what rules coded they would fit best into? Vanilla SM or possibily one of the other codexes. If I have time I may eventually start a painting and modelling blog of there is any intrest.

The Lexicanum article lists all of the books that reference the Raptors.
Read those and you'll know everything there is to know about the Raptors (which isn't a huge amount).
IA9 is by far the biggest source for the raptors and is worth a read. Also, the pics of them with corroded and rusted armour look dynamite - I'm sorely tempted to do that for my next project.

Great choice dude! I am building a Raptors army as well and have found them very fun to build. There isn't a whole lot fluff about them but the one recurring theme I've noticed is that they are extremely flexible in terms of their weapons and armor, but tend to prefer things on the shooty side. This opens up lots of choices as to what to field because they no problem using any tool available. Since the fluff says they embrace camouflage, I see it as a plus that they have no problem changing the color of their PA and will adjust it to suit their needs. I have painted mine Olive Grey but most other olive-based colors would work for their "normal" color. I also believe that squad and rank markings can be left up to personal interpretation and I have done so accordingly, using ideas that are found it current military insignias.
You picked an awesome chapter, so best of luck and have fun!

Best codex for a Raptor's (all jump infantry possibility) is probably the Blood Angel's codex.

Which would work if the Raptors were a jump army, they are not. Raptors are jungle fighters, or ambushers. Most fluffy lists are bikers and scouts. They are a C: SM army through and through.

Yeah I chose them because I'd prefer the idea of a sneaky ambush win at all costs chapter to one that just runs at the enemy so they don't seem dishOnourable.
Thanks Scott I will check that out.
Mind showing me a few pictures of your army ?
