I'm starting up an Epic Space Marine force and was wondering something about the SM Scouts

In the army list it gives the option for a sniper upgrade......but I can't find a model for this anywhere.

Do the Space Marine scouts from GW come with sniper models?? Did a sniper model even exist? If not, if anyone could suggest some alternative models that would be much appreciated thanks

Carlos

Hi,

Unlike 40k , epic does not give you too many options per troop type, that is one option per type per sprue.

So a scout sniper model does not exist and if you want one you would have to make one yoursellf. Given the epic scale, 6mm, a quick snip of the existing scout model weapons and replacement with a thin piece of wire or even brush bristle suitably painted would be adequate.

Remember that you do not have to go over overboard on WYSIWYG, just make sure you opponent knows.

Epic uses 6mm figures, WYSIWG rather goes out of the window at this scale as converting such tiny figures is more trouble than it is worth. The best way of representing individual unit upgrades is to give them an obvious visual cue, for example giving commanders banners.

In this case modelling a snipers hide on the base or only using 3 models would be what I would suggest.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I did a bit of digging and found what I think would be a decent model to use as a SM scout sniper....... either one on the stand, or making a whole stand of snipers if they look obviously different to the normal GW models
