A Stormtalon, fresh off the painting table, and ready to support the Imperial Fists' Fifth Company on their wars of conquest. I'm not the world's best painter, but I'm happy with the results.

The yellow is the result of a number of layers of Averland Sunset (Iyanden Darksun) to Yriel Yellow (Golden Yellow). Washed with Gryphonne Sepia, then another layer of Yriel Sunset, and then a liberal drybrush of Hexos Palesun. Charcoal parts are a Chaos Black/Adeptus Battlegrey blend, lightly drybrushed with Etherium Blue.

Twin-linked Assault Cannons and a Typhoon Missile Launcher are a pretty solid loadout. I magnetized the face of the missile racks so I could swap them out for the Skyammer Missiles, though I like the look of the Typhoon Missile racks a lot more. I don't anticipate using the Heavy Bolters or Lascannons, but I kept the bits so if I ever wanted to, I can magnetize them and slip them in there, too.

I'm not sure if I want to leave the elevator flaps yellow as they are currently, or paint them gray and distress them (similar to the chin turret, missile pods, and engine skids). I think a little bit of gray would help break up the monotony of the yellow towards the back, but that yellow takes forever to paint, and if I didn't like the look, there'd be no going back.

Also, I have some extra resin forgeworld Imperial Fists emblems somewhere towards the bottom of my Bits Box that I will probably dig out, paint, and glue on to the sides of the missile pods. I don't really see where else chapter emblems could fit, possibly on the sides of the tail? I think I'll wait till I see some more Stormtalons finished before I decide where they'll end up.

Nice and solid job there.

Some IF iconography would help break up the monotony. I'd slap some freehand or transfers on first and then see how it looks (wings, rocket pod sides, tail).

Storm talons are tiny, but i think they look much better than storm ravens because storm talons actually look like they could fly. Great paint job by the way, make an awesome scenic base for it too.

You know what they say kids, drive it like its a rental.

Fantastic job! First non-GW scheme I've seen on the talon, and you've done ace, I reckon.

I always find blocking out potential colour schemes can help with making decisions - maybe this will be useful to you?

Looks awesome as is, but just hoped I could help!

Timtheheirodule- The base is in the works. Unfortunately, I don't have my basing materials here with me in my apartment, so that'll have to wait until the next time I'm up at the family farm and can raid my storage bins. I might also look into resin bases, I also have 3 Valkyries that need some base work and if I can find a good variety of resin bases in the large flier size, that could be an option.

Scarper- I really like the way that the gray breaks up the back of the stormtalon. I think I'm going to get to work in MSpaint later today and see what schemes I can cook up.

Following my gut instinct and Orki's advice, I painted up my FW Fists emblems and found that I liked them the most on the sides of the tail, it brought a splash of color to the rear of the craft.

Nice, what would look good is a high tree line, but that wouldn't work for all types of boards. What you could do is put a dead enemy on its base, but put on one that belongs to one of you friends. Like if one of your friends collects eldar for example you could put one of them on its base, or even better put an Ork or something running away from it. That I'd like to see!

You know what they say kids, drive it like its a rental.

Looks good.

I'll never comprehend how people can get models painted so fast. The Stormtalon has been out for all of 2 days and you have it finished.
