When i say review i mean about the characters and their rules
Quickly some fluff so you have a review of my army:
Creation
Like all Space Marine Chapters, The Monks were created to fight a certain threat that threatened the Imperium and all its citizens’ way of life. This threat was a new Waaaagh campaign by the Warboss, Urgel BoneSmasha. An Inquisitor named Maximus Castellan confronted the High Lords of Terra about the Waaaagh and requested one thousand marines at his ready to combat this blood-hungry campaign set out by Urgel. The new chapter was approved and Castellan was appointed Chapter Master. Without hesitation, Maximus set his ships tracker to Titan to meet with an old friend.
Upon arrival on Titan Maximus was met by Grey Knight Paladin named, Charon Mortez. Standing at wait in shinning silver Tactical Dreadnaught Armour with long blonde Hair, Charon was truly a face of purity. Castellan explained about his new title and offered Charon position as Paladin-Captain of the 1st Company. Charon agreed to his old friends’ proposal and made for Terra with Maximus and ten fellow Paladins who were to make up the 1st Company Veterans.
On the Surface of Terra Maximus and Charon consulted the High Lords and the Head of the Imperial Navy and discussed the conundrum of a Fleet based Chapter or a planet based Chapter. After twelve days of continuous discussion it was agreed upon that the Monks will be a fleet based chapter with its recruits coming from the Grey Knights and the Ultramarines, but the Gene-seed of Robute Gilliman was to be transplanted out of fear that the great Grey Knight gene-seed would become impure and corrupt.
After approval and warranting, Maximus and Charon sailed upon their new Fleet of Starships for Ultramar in search of their remaining Captains and staff. After years of shifting through potential candidates, Maximus filled his roster and began their voyage to the Segmentum Obscurus to cleanse the Ork scum.
The Great War
Seventy-Nine years of continuous siege upon the Ork Strongholds, The Monks used above average psychic prowess to their advantage and blasted massive dents in the Ork numbers. But the Ork Waaaagh fought back equally strong killing hundreds of Monks. Maximus was confronted by the Captain of his Third Company, Julianous Longstein. Julianous begged Maximus to see that attacking the Ork head off would never work. Maximus placed his hand on the young Captains shoulder, looked him in the eye and spoke “Have faith in our father and your brothers my friend, the war is close to its end. I can feel it.”
Deep in the bloody fields of close combat stood the oversize Warboss, Urgel Skullsmasha, knocking over Monk and Ork alike. Maximus used his teleport technique and appeared in front of the monstrous Warboss. Instantly all the fighting stopped as the two Commanders stared each other done, Maximus was cool calm and collected whilst Urgel was drooling from his mouth and had a crazed twitch in his eye. Urgel sprinted towards Maximus swing axe and hand like a barbarian after a smaller prey. Urgel threw is gigantic axe at Maximus who simply stood out the way within split timing. Urgel continued by swing his huge fists around trying to smoosh Castellan into nothing, the young Chapter Master blocked and dodged each swing effortlessly before counter attacking. Maximus rammed his hand inside the Warbosses mouth and pulled out the Crazed Orks apophyges. Urgel dropped to the floor spilling blood from his mouth all over the dusty ground. Without their great Warboss the fell to the Monks chainswords and bullets like they had given up.
The Split
Many years after the great victory over Urgel Skullsmasha, a virus from the planet had spread throughout the Monks of Asteria. Instead of killing the Space Marines, the virus had in fact opened their potential to manipulate the Warp without consequences. But not all Monks were found to produce these effects. One being Captain Paladin Charon Mortez. Seeing what had happened to his brothers Maximus ordered that all that were affected were transferred into one Company, whilst those who had no effects take place were put in a separate Company. Those who possessed the new power were members of the Main Branch or the Great House. Those who didn’t were part of the Sub Branch or Lower House. This caused a lot of jealousy and rivalry between the two houses, but both branches would fight with each other the time deems necessary. Otherwise the Sub Branch would fight and die the most, whilst the Great House was filled with master Librarians and High Chaplains. Maximus became known as Lord Maximus, Chapter Master of the Ordo Monochus and Supreme Commander of the Great House.
Maximus presented his dear friend Charon a Staff of Power to signify him as Paladin Charon Mortez, Captain of the Ordo Monochus Terminator Company and Supreme Commander of the Lower House. Paladin Charon continued to command the Lower House for many decades until he fell to sickness. Charon was succeeded by his son Brother Feron Mortez at request of Charon’s last dying wish.
