Subject: Trying out beastmen 2500 pts

Erratic Knight Errant

Hey guys, I'm starting out beastmen. I was looking for an army that not too many people played and i really like the look of their models. I'm disappointed that the rares are so terrible, I like the ghorgon but hes not very good form what i can tell. Anyways, I'm running herdstone spam, all the bray shamans will have shadows for miasma and beasts on the great bray shaman to be a killy mage. I'm a little worried my units are on the smallish side but then where should I get the points for them? Thanks guys any comments will be very helpful. Also instead of the chariots i was thinking of going with a razorgor herd instead, not sure though. Using this list what units should my lords/heroes go in?
Beastlord: General, Armor of destiny, Shield, sword of battle, iron curse icon
Great Bray Shaman: lvl 4, talisman of preservation, steel claws, jagged dagger
Wargor: BSB, Beast Banner, heavy armor, shield, gnarled hide
Shaman: lvl 2:
Shaman: lvl 1: dispel scroll:
Shaman: lvl 1, herdstone:
30 Gor: FC, AHW
30 Gor: FC, AHW
30 Ungor: FC
20 Ungor: musician
3 tuskgor chariots
30 Bestigor: FC
total points: 2492
Thanks again everyone.

2500 is a lot to try out an army but I'll trim some fat here.
30 Gor is not enough, go 40 at least, a 20 man unit of gor for ambushing could be viable, rule of thumb on ambushing is do it to a unit you can afford to lose.
Dump the Tuskgors to free up points
Make it 40 ungors shields in a 5 wide bus standard and musician is fine no need for champ.
20 ungors aint going to do much, get 3-4 units of 5 raiders for redirecting and chaff
boost that Bestigor unit to 40
5 man harpy and 1-2 single razorgor would be good to for mage hunting, warmachine hunting and general chaff/redirecting.

It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Better but you are going to need more chaff, a good opponent will exploit those big blocks with redirectors. IMO drop a unit of gor, add in a razorgor or 2, and 2-4 units of 5 raiders, any leftover points I might recommend a Standard of Discipline with the bestigor to give you a LD10 bubble, chalice of dark rain on the unequipped shaman is handy too, also since that bestigor unit is horded a crown of command is nice too so they can survive a round of combat against flails or choppers or whatever that will lose it's effectiveness in later rounds of combat. But the 2nd list is much better.
