When I picked up the Maxmini Mechanical Hammer set, I instantly thought that would look cool on an inquisitor. Since I bought a Grey Knight Termy and Troop box, I 've been trying to stretch the bitz out to make a small army using bitz I have already. So I wanted to try a Coteaz conversion and here it is. He is based off a metal Emperor's Champion. I think he came out nice. I think he just needs a few seals and a nice base.

I just got back from the autos-da-fé. Lol.

Seriously, though, great work. Coteaz is hands-down my favorite GW sculpt of all time, and you have done a simply fantastic job of converting him. Your use of greenstuff is killer. I think his big, pimpy Inquisitorial symbal bling might be a touch TOO big, but that might just be me. Incidentally, where did you get that gold chain?

Thank god somebody got that reference.

Do you think it's too big or too thick? Maybe if I remove it and lower its profile with a scalpel. I'm still on the fence about the eagle. If I decide to do it I think I can perch him on the left shoulder . That chain is made for model ship building, I get it from a local hobby store. It's the smallest chains I could find. Wish I could remember what size it is....

Personally, I think it's too wide. Height wise, it's big, but not too big. Nor do I think it is too thick. If you're going to shrink it, you can take some off the height if you want, but I'd make it thinner before anything. I don't know if you have a model store that supplies model train builders, but I've used some chain for HO scale trains that is teeny-tiny. (I couldn't even find a smaller chain at a jeweler.) I would definitely do the eagle, you've got plenty of room on that shoulder.

It's pressmolded from the center of a Terminator so that may be why it seems out of scale. I'll work on it. I can do a plasticard symbol instead that might fit it. The kneecaps and hammer symbols were also pressmolded. The armor was just freeform.

That's a good idea about model train scale chains but I think these are the smallest links I've ever seen. I may have to order some in bulk, two small bags has lasted me quite a while.

Here's the chain I use, presented against a backdrop of my Coteaz (who is still unfinished) for scale. As you can see, it's teeny tiny, although I think it might be more expensive than the kind you use.

that actually looks like the same chains i buy. Is that HO scale? I just found a site that sells N scale chains that might be even smaller than those. I'll have to measure it to see how many links per inch it is. The smallest they sell are 40 links per inch, although i think we are using something closer to 15 links per inch.

It is indeed HO scale. I'll have to measure mine to see how many links per inch.

The chain i used has 20 links per inch. I changed the armor centerpiece. Its smaller but still has the Inquisition logo. I cleaned it up under a magnifying glass with a needle tool after this pic and added more rivets to the gauntlets.
