I'm really just bored and wondering what unit is the cheapest Points:$$$ not counting HQs.

I'm pretty sure for Tau it's the XV8 commander st 5.96 points per dollar or the Broadside (if you can find them, but don't get me started on that).

I seem to recall from the last one I bought that the Space Marine Independent Characters are like, twenty bucks, and they can run between two and three hundred points.

He is $17 and costs 150 points He goes with the Death Company, so he is a troops choice.

For necron I believe a C'tan shard with the 2 most expensive upgrades would be it at 7.52 points per $1, I think even without the upgrades he is still the highest with 4.83 points per $1.

Using UK prices, you can get up to 485 points worth of paladins from the GK terminator box (28 £), so that's 17.3 points per pound. If you go for as cheap as possible with wound allocation route, you get 10.9 points per pound (box only comes with 1 psycannon).

Lemartes gets 14.6 points per pound.
Draigo is 18.3 points per pound.

Touche.....Why pay for large expensive Ork, IG or even a SM Army, when I can buy 20 models + 2 vehicles and an Uber-codex and then go Fromage smashing my way through 150 model army.

Uber armies, they are cheap, forgiving (due to their Uber-Weaponry and USR's) and great for Beginners!!!

i ain't mad atcha. i wish i knew more when i started two months ago. i chose tau. :/. i'll be ok if i can find some broadsides...IF.

It's probably loganwing terminators. The termies cost you $50, but you can sink hundreds and hundreds of points into that squad if you give them all the upgrades they can take. You could easily breach 6 or 7 points per dollar with this squad.

Also, a LR Executioner costs $50 and can be tooled up to 310 points for 6.2 points per dollar.

Khorne berzerkers are also pretty good at the moment. Despite having very few upgrades, a box of 12 comes for only $33, and can make 322 points (with a little creativity for making a fist), which is an astounding 9.75 points per dollar, and that's for a troops choice.

I'd also look into GK, as I know they can make pretty expensive stuff if they want to .

i've never heard of a land raider executioner but i know that the vanilla land raider just got bumped to $77 so i don't think that one is in the running anymore.

You could also make two squads, giving you two Aspiring Champions. With only a minimal amount of converting you can have two Chaos Lords and 2 squads of 5 models.

It shouldn't be hard to make 500 points out of a box of Khorne Berzerkers.

that's true, but does anyone buy rhinos? why wouldn't they get the razorback and sell/trade/use the extras? it's like $4 more

paladins are pretty hard to beat point per dollar if you doll them up with all the bells and whistles

$50 box can equal 480 points .. $.10 per point

or noz also can be pretty point effective for the 5 models for 255 points

$25 maxed points for the bitz in the box equals .11 per point

I would say Ork Nobz, got them for $25 and kit them out for around 250+ points.

Doing a rough total based on a box of Khorne Berzerkers (don't remember lord cost right now, but I think that's correct):
