You are now aboard a Thunderhawk gunship. Full alert has been sounded and the craft is under heavy fire from Bio-Titans that have been deployed on the planet by Hive Fleet Dagon. Guns blazing and engines screaming the Thunderhawk Gunships pilots brave the onslaught and manage to break into orbit.

As you look out at the planet you see that there is no hope left for Tantulus or the Local sector. The dark twisting and writhing tendrils of the Hive Fleet have all but completely consumed both planets. This energy and rapid advancement is not normal behavior for this Fleet. You also see that a Hive ship has fallen into orbit around Cordova, the main planet in the system and a full retreat of the Guardsmen can be see from orbit as hundreds of Valkyrie Transports shuttle the remaining forces off of the lost planet. Many will be sacrificed still to fleet. Millions will die in the Emperors name.

The battle also rages in space. Mighty Lance weapons are firing at the Hive ship and now as the withdrawal is complete, upon the planets surface as well. With each shot vast craters as large as a Battle Cruiser are left to scar the planet.

With no Black ships in the area it is impossible to call down a mighty Exterminatus order on the planets and Virus bombs have little to no impact to the quickly evolving and adapting Dagon Fleet.

While looking out of the gunner bay ports, Captain Damocles notices a large hulking Space station in orbit amidst the battle. Surly the Reactor Cores in the station would be capable of destroying a majority of the sector if it we to be detonated.

It would surly be infested with a host of mighty creatures. But this was the only way to prevent the further spread of this tendril. Aboard the ship were 40 Guardsmen that had been picked up along with 3 other marines of the Deathwatch. Presumably returning from another mission.

Damocles hoped this would be enough to Carry out this mission.
If not, all hope would be lost in the Cordova sector of the Jericho Reach.

Upon the end of your stay in the Watch the Forge Master approaches with a request. He has lost contact with a colleague studying ancient Archeotech on the planet of Vespasia. The Forge Master will not say what was being studied but he is requesting that you investigate and retrieve a small item of utmost importance to the Imperium and the Deathwatch both. To make matters worse, the local city is in danger of a full scale Ork overrun from the west.

The Local Imperial battalion is preparing for this but is vastly undermanned. The Ork population is estimated to be over 9000 strong and is currently moving East.
We will be dropping you onto the planet via Aquila Lander. Report to the cities Administratum Building to assess the situation and gain an insight as to the status of the city.
Commissar Yandal is currently holding the city under full lock down and defenses are on full alert. You arrival is not expected.

1. Find out what is going on in the Tech Sanctum of Vespasia
2. Retrieve unknown item from Tech Sanctum.
3. Help fortify and defend the City from the Ork infestation.
