The only problem is that GW's marker set comes with a lot more, and is cheaper.
But these are higher quality and look much nicer. Make some Warmachine versions, and I'm in!

Nicely done, though.

What a clever idea - the 16 sets of $13 SoB counters sold already covered the cost of the button machine.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but they're metal. Just kind of implied it with the magnet comment I guess. They're just like buttons, without the pin. Very solid. And Ninja'd about the buttons bit....

I imagine there is a recess in the back end, right? 1" buttons have circular pins. Check them out here.
I'm not bagging on the guy; it's a really good idea and the startup costs are such to dissuade casual people from doing it themselves (Looks like a minimum of $260ish), and a set of these buttons - 33 for $13 - is a reasonable price. It's a winner all around.

I've bought several various sets from him. What initially sold me was the necron specific set with the entropic strike markers etc.
I'm probably going to order some more stuff from him since he has added some more.
They are nice looking, sturdy (metal) and really help keep things straight.

Those are nice. They combine the durability of plastic or perspex markers with the legibility of printed cardboard or paper chits. Especially for larger apocalypse games, the ability to put down unequivocal "Unit has fired" and "Unit has moved X inches" markers is great. Especially since you can then take a lunch break mid-turn without fear of forgetting anything.

These look like they were made by a child's badge maker.
Nice idea but could be more cost effective to make your own.

I think all food products could fall under that bracket.
Think the issue for me is they look like badges.
But as I said they are a good idea.

There's several companies doing things like this for the RPG market... My D&D group ordered a big pack of them in 2010 to cover various character abilities. I think I'd prefer slightly smaller ones, but these certainly work. Style is a personal decision, of course.

I bought some for my Eldar and they are awesome for keeping track of Exarch abilities and psyker powers. They are small 1" metal discs, very durable compared to my PP plastic markers.
As for being cost effective? Have you seen how much a button maker is? At least several hundred bucks for single manual machine. And making non button ones, I've made my own paper and cardboard markers before and they do not last. I am used to GW prices, so it was a pleasant surprise to not pay an arm and leg to get something for my hobby.

Please note I said child's badge maker, the ones that cost around £20 quid. Even professional ones are £150 and come with 250 blank badges, not several hundred just for the machine.

I'd like some for my Vampire Counts, showing various abilities given to units or characters to remind me through the game. Counters for Fear, Terror, Always Strikes first/last, Re-rolling missed attacks or wounds (for VHD and Hellish Vigor), Regeneration (of different amounts), ward saves etc. Basically anything that can be given or used in the game. Might have to design my own and put them on small MDF counters.

I do remember my abilities and rules, but for my opponent's sake its nice to have. Also, for big mega battles it's very handy especially if the group takes a lunch break.

The Dark Eldar markers have proved invaluable. They include combat drugs markers as well as fifteen pain tokens. They've proven to be incredibly useful and convenient and I've handed out the little business cards he mailed with my order to interested DE friends at the FLGS.

I used to play like that. In the lead up to Adepticon, on the 3rd game where I caught myself moving a vehicle that had been stunned the previous turn, I decided it was time to reintroduce markers to my games... Didn't want to be forgetting stuff like that in the actual tournie.

Maybe for Ork Dreads, don't they have multiple arms with DCCW's? I've done something similar by making designs using GIMP or Paint, printing them off, cutting them out, and gluing them to 25mm bases. This works great for my Eldar Farseer's psyker powers, helps keep track of who's got what.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I bought them because it was a product I wanted that I did not want to put the time and effort into making myself. Now if you want to invest in making them, designing the icons, and printing them yourself you are free to do so. I think that most people wont however.

hey guys, I'm the dude who makes 'em! figured that word would get around, but didn't want to be TFG.
I'll answer some questions:
1. badges? we don't need no stinking badges!
2. the Ork Klaw Busted marker was actually requested from a few players who wanted some way to show a CC weapon on their Deff Dreads/Killa Kans as destroyed, that was a little more visual. 30+ Orks players can't be wrong!
3. WFB is up next (8th edition armies first), along with Infinity and Dust (the latter two are released next week).
4. I make 'em myself, so it's a homebrew type of thing. and it's fun to do. but I don't play every army either, so I may inadvertently get some of them wrong (or not enough of a specific one), so please PM me and set me straight! (like that SW player who demanded 4 JoTWW markers be in the set! I have a Death Ray with your name on it mang!)
5. kudos to you's who can remember every little detail and Wargear and changing conditions, me? I STILL forget about Reserves, along with just about everything else (member of the over 40 club for a few years now). but, in my group of about 20, nobody cheeses me about how many wounds are left as they "forget" to leave that die on the table next to their almost dead model. or as the model moves around on the table, somehow the number on the die goes up or down. sure, call that an accident. a "2 Wounds Remaining" marker relieves the "stress" in our games (which tend to get hot from time to time, I'm sure you all know those types of players!).
6. I try to keep them as reasonably priced as possible. I hated spending $20+ on a set of plastic markers (that only 1/3rd were really useful to me) that wound up getting lost or broken. $20 is half of a Doom Scythe after all!
thanks!
