Just been reading through a Dance with Dragons and I'am curious about whether Vic n Danny will actually get together. I mean I could imagine them doing so for the iron Fleet and maybe falling in love.


Lets be clear, the man is currently a monster by any definition of the word. Burning a bunch of women, throwing perfumed boys, into the sea etc etc. But is he really any worse than Khal Drogo, that mans Khal was killing and raping people by the thousand? True, murdering his pregnant wife would be terribly difficult for Danny to accept. But I don't think he actually wanted that at all and probably hated himself for it. The man is a die-hard traditionalist to the old way, which is the lens with which he views the world, hence he makes big distinctions between Eurons slave taking n humiliation of hostages to his own tactics; he really does blame Euron Greyjoy for murdering his wife. So hes kinda not that terrible a person in context, hes made by the society which birthed him and Danny has loved worse.

At the minute I'll admit. Vic knows nothing about Danny. He equates her to her a prize in his head, one he intends to steal from his brother and doesn't appear to want to love her. In fact his plan involves stealing her from Mereen. However I think thats more because he doesn't know the woman and thats how Ironborn think about women in general; prizes. Plus, he himself admits that he was never born to be King and would always be a follower. Although he has some ambitions to get Danny and the dragons. To my mind, that makes it sound like the Kraken could be 'tamed'. Also, he has taken to his fire worship very seriously, far more fanatically than Stannis did. If Moqorro were to tell him that Danny is basically the messiah then he could probably reconcile serving a woman with his ironborn pride; because she wouldn't be an ordinary woman in his eyes. Plus, GRR Martin seems to be pushing his coldness towards women, which may be an absolute character trait, but to my mind that seems like a malleable characterization; something thats meant to change.


This is just supposition, a lot of it rests on when they meet. In what circumstances (does he save Mereen or sack it) and especially on how malleable Vic is to change. He is too brutal an individual as it stands and could certainly turn out to be a villain if Danny rebutes him.


ps Ideally i would want to see her with Jorah Mormont. But sadly he is only a Knight and she doesn't seem to show any interest in returning his love for her. Victarion is from a noble house and eligible to be King of the Iron Islands.



The romance would very neatly parrallel this film I think .
