So I was checking out the advertisement for the GW studio open day. While browsing the page I saw that they have an event planned for September 1st. The event is titled the Chaos Terminators Masterclass.

Why would a unit that is as old as the plastic chaos terminators get its own event?

Could this be foreshadowing a Chaos release? I know the Chaos Codex has been strongly rumored, but has it been confirmed yet?

I had that thought as well. The timing would fit in with the current rumors on 6th edition and the starter set. Might also mean chaos terminators in the starter set...

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too

Or, and this is crazy, it could just mean that they are showing people how to paint the existing Chaos Terminators.

The Chaos Terminator Masterclass on September 1st will be run by none other than the Hobby Team legends themselves - Chris Peach, Duncan Rhodes and Steve Bowerman, who will be there to show you the techniques they use to paint a squad of Chaos Space Marine Terminators quickly and effectively.

That could very well be what it means. Although I don't see the point in featuring an old unit that is taken from a Codex that desperately needs replaced. How can they build any excitement that way?
Seems like a waste of an event if you ask me (although I guess the same can be said about recent gamesdays).

This is all mearly speculation on my part. Take it for what it's worth. (not much)

Well, there's also a master class on Realm of Battle boards, which aren't new.

However, we did have scenery masterclasses when the last edition of WHFB came out.

It's not too farfetched that they might do a RoB board masterclass considering that FW has started doing new tiles as well, and scenery is a pretty integral part to playing the game.

Eye of Terra.

I think it's an old GW mind trick for short-term profits to get the hopeful to collect languishing Chaos figures again and has nothing to do with a future release...

Or...

A NEW CHAOS CODEX IS COMING OUT! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

That didn't answer the question did it... Sorry.

GW is inscrutable, their motives unknowable. We can do nothing but wait and see.
