Hey Dakka I am working on my BT's and want to see if either of these lists work. One is a gun line and the other is assault based.

1500 - List one Gun Line

HQ:
Marshal w/ Adamantium Mantle, Holy Orb, LC/SS, Master Crafted

Sword Bretheran Terminator Command Squad (2x CML, Chainfist, Tank Hunters)

Emperors Champion (Abhor the Witch)

Elite:
Ven Dread w/ TL Lascannon, Tank Hunter

Troop:
Initates x5 w/ Lascannon, Plasmagun, Rhino

Initates x5 w/ Lascannon, Plasmagun, Rhino

Initates x5 w/ Lascannon, Plasmagun, Rhino

Initates x5 w/ Lascannon, Plasmagun, Rhino

Fast Attack:
Land Speeder Typhoon w/ HB

Land Speeder Typhoon w/ HB

Basic Strat is to sit back and shoot from cover with initiates and typhoons. Termi's will provide a small bubble wrap. Rhinos will be used to provide cover to squads or act as moving road blocks.

List 2 - Assault

HQ:
Castellan w/ Adamantium Mantle, Terminator Armour, LC/SS

EC w/ AACNMTO

Elite:
SB Assault Terminators (3x LC 2x TH/SS) w/ LRC

Troops:
Initates x10, Neophytes x5 (PF, Meltagun, 13x BP/CCW) w/LRC

Initiates x10 (PF, Meltafun, 8x BP/CCW) Drop Pod

Strategy with this list is to drive the LRC's as quickly as possible into the enemy and unload. Drop Pod will come in whenever and support which ever LRC unit needs it.

As for competitveness your 1st list will do better, ur 2nd list is lacking anti tank at range, any fast army will b able ot kite you around the table blowing up ur transporters then use ur righteous zeal to draw you in the opposite dirextion you wanna go.

For ur First list there are a few changes i would sugest just to make ur army a bit more deadlier.
1) Ur Marshall id give a PF and get rid of the MC its xtra points that will hardly b used
2) Ur Command squad is pretty expensive for the same amount of points (i figure ~225 i dont have my dex in front of me) you can get 3 more landspeeder typhoons which = for more shoots and mobility
3) Give ur Ven Dread a ML more range anti tank (used 10 points)
4) Id Drop at least one crusader squad just because the most objectives a game can have is 5 and 3 objectives will win the game for you
5) Id get 1-3 Vindicators w/ PotMS and EA for anti horde
