Hey i fell in love with the Furiouso Nought and i went out and got a codex! so for now i'm going to run what i got so to speak, and just run with models i already have, but i would love suggestions. just keep in mind that i'm going to build this list to 2000 and it will be built around Astaroth(he will be proxying as a Reclusiarch for now). The whole goal is to charge forward with the raider filled with termies and make them focus on that threat while i use my Death co and reclusiarch to get lots and lots of hits.

Reclusiarch with jet pack 155

5 terminators 4 w/TH SS 1 w/lighting claws in a

land raider Redeemer w/ multi melta 470

11 Death Company w/jump packs 2 power weapons and powerfist 405

10 Assault Marines 2 w/meltas 210

Predator w/Lascannon sponsons 135

1 Dreadnought w/2 TL Autocannon 125

Total:1500

tear it apart...gently .

thanks!

* sees list * well its not that bad sertenly better then mine when i got into 40k but anyway

the death company is basically saying hey control my units and then your enemy can manipulate them but keep this in mind you can choose who to shoot and assault you just have to move tords the closest thing also 11 of them all with jump packs that's a little insane but if you want to go all out give them all power weapons or scrap that and give them weapons of what is left over in points

if you have 10 dc then get 2 dc dreadnought in drop pods that's the only reason you take them ( give them manga grapples)

assault marine with 2 meltas ( no power fist?) this is fine but no priest?

terminators are even more expensive for this list then in normal sm i would keep it at lightning claws and give them a priest so they have fc and fnp

predators with lascannon sposons i hate those either give it a tl las cannon or nothing but las cannons i dont see why you would take auto las because of how few shots you get. i would just make it pure anti troop or pure anti tank ( and or scrap this and get devastators with 4 missiles)

dreadnought is a dreadnought he kills light vehicals that's about it ( get devastators with 4 missiles)

what you need is priests alot of them at least 1 for each squad what they do is awsome

melee dreads such as the dc dread in drop pods because they will make your opponent turn and shoot

i would suggest scraping the dc unless your getting dc dreads then scrap them for more assault squad

devastators with missiles ( and maybe a razor back just for giggles) because its 10 points for a missile and the squad is 90 points

and last but not least librarians because all of their powers are amazing in this put them in a squad with lightning claws and you can make everyone in the squad preferred enemy or st 10 weapon ect ect

hope this helps you

Your getting the right idea but one unit that I recommend for Blood Angels is a Furioso Dreadnought In a drop pod.
They are just plain AWESOME!

That is all I have to say....

you can also note that blood talons do not reroll to hit but they reroll to wound

so go blood fists for vehicals go talons for troops

is there any way to keep some of my death co? at least 5 of them so i can get some good effect from my reclusiary. switching to a las plas on the RB is easy enough.

Do i have enough troops? that was a big concern of mine.

I just bought the codex yesterday and i'm not sure what priests do, so i'll have to check on that today.

dc cannot catpture objectives and dc for what they do they are not the best at all you might as well get terminators for the points they give because terniators are better then dc but if you get 5 then get 1 dc dread but use the other 5 as assult marines with no jump pack and put them in a razor back

DC are a troop choice, why wouldn't they be able to cap objectives? i'm confused, isn't that the whole point of troop choices?

also, the re-rolls to wound with the death co, pretty useful or not really?

they have rage they cannot cap objectives because the moment they see an enemy they go " AHHH KILL IT!!!" and they charge at it like a mad man thus their black rage rule

and the reroll to wound is good if you have a big squad of them without power weapons but for a small squad not really and dont give them upgrades ecept for mabye a power fist or something

but its meh they can take out another space marine but agenst death stars and vehicals they will die but then again they dont cause a point in kill points so hey thats good

If you reali want DC ive seen some decent list built around them, you need Grimm though and a few LRR's. As stated DC cant hold objectives so in DC lists scouts are normally used to hold back objectives while the rest of ur army flys up the field. Its already been coverd but Priests are a must for a fast list w/ alot of assault marines, while they are not needed in a DC squad if you decide to run normal Assault Marines it keeps them alive longer. While DC dreads are pretty good i dont find them effictive granted they ignore shanken and stunned(Deamonic Possesion? can you say next Chaos chapter) id rather take a furious dread

death stars as in a super unit that can kill anything it comes across for instance furieosos are mini deathstars because they can kill tanks or infantry

This is not entirely correct. DC have Black Rage which infers the Rage universal special rule (which dictates how they move, not whether they can score) and in addition to they never count as scoring.

well they can but you would have to block their line of sight to the eneamy in order for them to STAY on the objective

Death company rules specifically state they cannot hold objectives

You can get lucky with death company. In my last game they rolled up one flank taking out 10 tactical marines and 5 legion of the damed. they were stopped for a turn by some assault terminators who got the charge but then my death company dreadnought caught up so then he send across to of his regular dreads. Between my death company and my dread I killed both.
What i'm trying to say is death company are unreliable but if you get lucky they can do really well.

It is a metaphor that comes from a cult film from 1977, slightly similar to Robot Jox.
Like in Robot Jox they create huge death creating machine but accidentally make one with vulnerability. There is moral of all your eggs in one basket.
Here you have a hugely killy, hugely expensive squad that would be squashed by a single vindicator.

That's right...you will always want to use some..say 20 RAS (Regular Assault Marines) with a priest and a Libby (you cannot get more for you money when we talk about Libbies)
the rest depends a lot on what you like and your game style.
I used to have 7 DC on a Rhino with 2 PW and 1 PF with a Chaplain, apart from those with PW, all the rest with bolter...DC are relentless so they can move, shoot full range of the bolter and still charge!..as someone said before...they are good replace for Tacticals but cannot capture objective.
My lists today are always a variation of 4x 5Men Assault in a Rzrbk with LasPlas + Priest + Libby. and depending on the size of the game (1.5K and up) I use Assault Termies with a Priest...either on a LR or as I'm recently trying...in a Stormraven!

if you put DC in a rhino, do they still follow the black rage rule or does the rhino movement take precedence?

The rhino wins, it drives where you want it to go.
