Argus's double bite combines Two str 8, POW 4 bites into a single chomp.

The *attack wording says to replace the POW of this attack with two times the POW of this weapon plus strength.

If I'm reading this correctly that would mean the usual P+S (4+8)=12 would be replaced by [2(P)+S]+S [2(4)+8]+8=24.

As i am newb This was ok with this because I figured the intent was half the attacks double the damage, the term glass cannon came to mind. At the game store I was informed that the ruling actually played out as P+S being replaced with [2(P)]+S=16, and that a P+S of 24 was unreasonable for such a light Jack.

Mathmatically I can't, in all honesty, argee with any other explination other than the 24 P+S... But as a noon I am inclined to believe those more experianced. Someone please help me with a FAQ or rational so I can make sense of this!

You're talking about the ability combo strike. It's a really poorly worded ability that we had a discussion on a while back:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/381859.page#4056457

But bascially you take the strength add the POW of the weapon twice then the dice roll. A normal, non-boosted combo-strike will be

8+4*2+2D6
so:
16+2D6

But yea, really poorly worded.

Mathematically, you're still Incorrect. To do what you're suggesting, the *attack would need the wording where it doubles the POW+Str. It doesnt. Read it again. It doubles the POW, not the P+S.

doing it correctly, its the POW that is doubled, and added to strength. in this case 2XPOW4 + 8. im sorry, but there is no other interpretation
