Quick question: Where does the influence of Chaos end, or rather, is the realm of Chaos limited to the Milky Way or the entire universe?

Chaos influences anywhere that creatures feel emotion or the warp bleeds into the material.

Gork and Mork are explicitly said to be more powerful and 99% of all Ork power goes direct to them, bypassing the Chaos Gods entirely. I'd also wager that the Tyranids do not contribute or are influenced by Chaos in any way, shape or form, and that the Hive Mind as a whole is a stronger warp presence than the Chaos Gods.

Generally, Chaos affects humans, eldar, and various minor xenos races, the other major xenos factions all have some way or another of being more or less immune to the touch of Chaos.

As for range, given that Gork and Mork are more powerful and the Orks probably aren't spread across the entire Universe, I'd say that Chaos is largely confined to the Milky Way galaxy.

Orks are tougher then the rest of the Chaos gods it is in the ork codex page 15, I dont know about passing the chaos gods though, but I think if khorne took power from Mork\Gork then they would have killed him by now.

orkz are da best!!!

On the likely power and influence of the chaos gods:

We can tell that chaos effects in the material universe are localized, that is, their ability to observe and effect the physical universe is constrained by space and time. While they may be infinite and eternal in the immaterium, in the materium they are in fact constrained. Though Slaanesh may have always existed once it was born, it was unable to effect the physical universe before M25.

It can also be observed that that chaos gods have more power and influence around uncontrolled psychic races and in areas where the barrier between worlds has been thinned (usually by psychic events taking place). Human or eldar worlds are at constant threat, while Necron and Tau worlds are fairly immune, unless a warp storm rolls in and weakens the fabric of reality.

Further, we know that the chaos gods cannot directly influence the physical world where the barrier between worlds is strong. They must act through mortal agents to weaken the fabric of the materium.

We also know things like warp storms are localized as well, typically being generated in places where the warp is already violent (like the Eye of Terror) and getting cast out from there.

In many areas of the materium they have little to no influence.

We also know that the warp is naturally a calm, serene place, which was churned up by the war in heaven and the emerging, violent psychic races of the galaxy. At the time of the War in Heaven it was churned up, producing dangerous, insane creatures that nearly destroyed the galaxy. Over the next 60 million years it calmed down again, so that when humanity emerged into space it was-while still dangerous-basically safe to travel through. The birth of Slaanesh/fall of the Eldar combined with the emerging of humanity as a psychic race combined to once again churn of the warp to such a degree that warp travel became almost impossible, and human worlds fell to warp rifts by the thousands. One wonders how many other emerging psychic races were wiped out at this time. After 15k years the death of most of the Eldar and Human races allowed the warp once again subside from an impassable, predatory, nightmare hell dimension intent on devouring the galaxy into merely a nightmare hell dimension occasionally devouring sections of the galaxy.

From this we get the picture that the immaterium around the milky was has been churned up over the aeons, resulting in the violent warp around the milky way we know today. But the further you get from psychic races and events, the more the warp calms. If the warp gods have little power in places in the milky way where little psychic activity has happened we can infer that in the immense vastness between galaxies the warp is likely still calm, and uninfluenced by chaos.

Presumably once all psychic life ends the in the Milky Way the immaterium will eventually be able to subside back into its natural, calm state, and chaos will finally "die", or at least subside into near non-existance.

Well said.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Necron worlds are resistant because they erect massive null fields around the Tombs, not because they're emotionless. In fact, their various hyperphase technologies and dimension-hopping tricks offer them no protection against daemons.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
