The vendetta squad is for capturing objectives and will come in outflanking (astropath!). Manticore for horde control (and i love heavy artillery).

Not bad. I like it. I don't understand the use of a command squad, when, for the most part, your tow vet squads are going to be out of order range. I know you are using them for the four plasma guns, a better than special weapon squad. Also, the flamers on the vet squad seem a waste, since they have good movement around the table.

I would take out the command squad, and replace with the following.

Lord Commissar w/ power weapon, plasma pistol, carapace armour. Have him ride with the vet squad.

replace the flamers with three plasma guns and upgrade the squad with demolisions.

With the remaining points you could add an armoured sentinel with some upgrade or maybe even a hydra. I don't have the codex handy, so, it is purely a guess.

This is just my opinion, which doesn't mean much. I just don't like the idea of a CCS with vets when a Lord Commissar can fill the HQ spot at less points.

i see 1 pw in both lists, and on a sgt thats 3 attacks, 4 if you get the charge, not 5. all your power fists will be going last so in 10 man units that to me is not ideal. they will most likely get wiped before they get a chance to fight. i would trade the PF for PW on all the guys you gave them too, and then give them melta bombs if they get into cc with walkers or vehicles or for DoG if tank shocked.

you also only have 4 av12 vics, make sure you keep them around cover since you have nobody to bubble wrap them with giving them a cover save. they will prolly need it.

good job taking the flamers off the vets. they waste the bs4 and the demo gives you anti horde capabilities along with the manticore and hydra. i like HF on my hydras and manty for any troops that get to close, especially orks and nids.

careful with all those plasmas, i limit mine since i like to roll ones and fail saves against the gets hot rule.

taking the detta out takes away some long range at an high mobility, but as long as the chimeras survive and you get the meltas in range and even the melta bombs it shouldnt be a major problem.

A couple of thoughts-

You are playing at pretty low points, so a few tricks could be all the difference.

I'd leave the Vendetta in. In a small game, with less anti-tank around, he has the chance to dominate.

A: Alpha strike (scout move) first turn assault multiple tanks with demolitions (if appropriate).

B: Has the firepower to down enemy armour easily.

C: Outflank flexibility.

D: Late game turbo-contesting.

CCS are actually great value.
5 guys, 8 wounds (vs commy, 3 wounds). For the same points, 3 meltas + give themselves a lot of handy orders.
You could use these guys as your suicide alpha squad.
3 Meltas, twin-linked is nice.

Chimeras are some of the best value in the game. At low points I would go for broke 3 or 4 if possible).

To save points, use infantry squads. You only have 2 scoring units.

By memory:

HQ

80: CCS, 3x Melta

Troops

45: PCS, 3x Flamer
55: Chimera

70: IS, Autocannon, Melta Gun
55: Chimera

65: IS, Autocannon, Grenade Launcher
55: Chimera

65: IS, Autocannon, Grenade Launcher
55: Chimera

130: Vendetta

75: Hydra

The combined firepower of the chimeras will make up for the lost manticore. Your opponent will also spread out as soon as they see it.

The CCS and PCS can swap rides depending on your plans.

This doubles your scoring units + they're highly mobile.

6av12 hulls, very hard to deal with at low points.

I once ran a similar list, but also had a small unit of psykers in a chimera. Absolutely wrecked a few units through weaken resolve.

Wouldn't autocannons be a waste in a chimera that is moving?

And in your list you only have 1 troop choice . .. (1 IP) don't you need 2 for the force organization chart?

i dont like the plasmas as much as the melta, youll see guys say ohh geez, uuuh its almost the same ap and you get 2 shots instead of one and can shoot 24"..........well its not even close to me, yes you get one shot, but ap1 is better, adds damage to the damage chart and you can roll 2 d6 against vics. also, its one shot against infantry, but st8 id anything t4 or less....so multiple wound models, blown away barring invul saves. with the plas, they get invul saves and you have to keep giving them wounds. the plas costs more, and you can hurt yourself.....which is not good with 5+ saves. thats my take, i only have 1-3 in my whole army but everyone has an opinion.

if you take out some of the plas manticore and the commy you can swap for a ccs with meltas, chim and vendetta. adding the extra av12 could help with surviv, and give you long range fast moving at.

well the hb on the vendetta will be kind of a waste until your opponent armor is gone, unless its av11 or less, but that should be most of what you see for av in that point limit, and if there is higher there wont be to many of them. but once it is gone and if the detta lasts long enough you can put some hurt on some infantry squads.

if you lose a chimera you can always zip the detta over and pick up any guys walking around if its still alive. that gives you that ability or you can have an empty chimera running around with some vets in the bird. able to outflank, move 24" deep strike, scout 24" and get a save if your opponent goes first etc

lots of options with these things, and 3 LC on av for 130? got heeeeem
