Looking to get some ideas on how to make a Skaven Daemon Prince. I am wanting to run Space Rats something fierce and feel that rats spreading the word (and filth) of Papa Nurgle Is awesome and fluffy.

Plus, it's Chaos. So whatevs, right?

I plan on using Stormvermin for Plaguebearers. I will use Plague Monks, two to a terminator base, as my Nurglings. I will use the Hellpit Abomination as my Greater Unclean One. I am deciding whether to have a chariot held aloft my Plague Monks with a Skaven HQ as my palanquins/Epidemius or use Rat Ogres.

The one thing I cannot figure out is a relatively cool and cost effective way to make the backbone of an all Nurgle list: My three Daemon Princes. I really want to match my themes (Slaanesh is spider centaurs, Tzeentch will be draconic, Khorne... is Khorne. I like those models!), so any thoughts on how to get a rat like Daemon Prince with near the right proportions would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Is there something wrong with the vermin lord? It's been a while since I played fantasy, but IIRC they were basicly demon princes to start with. A quick search of the skaven range shows that they are still in print.

Aren't they a touch too small?

To be honest, I havn't seen one in person in over a decade To small can be fixed. Add some armor, bulk up the base, etc. My question was not rhetorical: I have no idea if there was something wrong with it, or if you were forgeting about it for some reason. But in my years of playing fantasy, I alway thought of them as skaven demon princes, so was wondering why they wouldn't work for space.

You should also smosh together all the skaven warmachines until a dreadnought comes out. That would be awesome.

I'm running Daemons, not marines so no Dreads for me

I DID find someone on Etsy (of all places...) that makes resin replica rat skulls. I may be able to get a custom order in with her and then purchase regular daemon princes (or like models) and use replica rat skulls as their head.

It will be absolutely disgusting!

I will be making one of those giant skaven walkers found in a thread on the front page of this sub forum. TOO awesome pass up. Any excuse I have to put a big model on the table is a good one for me!

Thank you for the feedback! Looking up the Vermin Lord lead me down the rabbit hole to finding that crafter on Etsy.
