So I am starting to actually model up my FoW models that I purchased about a year ago, trying to widen my wargaming horizon. I have the Earth & Steel book, but I think I am going to go with the Fortress Europe Fallschirmjaeger Company here (mostly because I was not paying attention and ordered Heavy Mortars a good while back...)

So here is what I came up with for 1000 points (using the Fallschirmjaeger platoon box, the 2 tanks from the old Open Fire box, and a box of Heavy Mortars)

Headquarters

Fallschirmjägerkompanie HQ 115

2 Cmd Panzerfaust SMG team
1 Panzerschreck team

Combat Platoons

Fallschirmjäger Platoon 180

1 Cmd Panzerknacker SMG team
6 Rifle/MG team

Fallschirmjäger Platoon 265

1 Cmd Panzerfaust SMG team
9 Rifle/MG team

Regimental Support Platoons

Fallschirmjäger Heavy Mortar Platoon 220

1 Cmd SMG team
2 Observer Rifle team
4 10.5cm NbW35 mortar

Divisional Support

Fallschirmjäger Tank-Hunter Platoon 220

2 StuG G

I still need the new rulebook and I was thinking about buying the new Achtung! set, that would give me a total of 4 StuGs. Together with the last 3 rifle/mg guns from the Platoon it would give me a nice step up in points. I didn't jump on the opportunity to get the rules update from the last edition.

Btw, did You give the Grey Wolf a try? It has FJ list as well as is more up-to-date than Fortress.

Looking to trade away 15mm Forged in Battle Pumas (still in the box).

I did not, let me check on that really quick.

Looks like if I use Grey Wolf I could drop the Panzerfausts from the Command Squads and get 1 more StuG.

I do like having the Panzerfausts at higher point games, so maybe I can still base them that way and just proxy at lower point games for now.

So after playing around with the Grey Wolf list I came up with this:

Headquarters

Fallschirmjägerkompanie HQ 155
2 Cmd Panzerfaust SMG team
1 Panzerschreck team
2 8cm GW42 (Stummelwerfer) mortar

Combat Platoons

Fallschirmjäger Platoon 190

1 Cmd Panzerknacker SMG team
6 Rifle/MG team

Fallschirmjäger Platoon 275

1 Cmd Panzerfaust SMG team
9 Rifle/MG team

Regimental Support Platoons

Fallschirmjäger Heavy Mortar Platoon 95
1 Cmd SMG team
1 Observer Rifle team
2 12cm sGW43 mortar

Divisional Support

StuG G Platoon 285

3 StuG G

That would let me keep the same basing that I already have, use one of the StuG Gs from the Achtung! set that I have ordered, and the only thing I would need to order is a box of 8cm GW42 (Stummelwerfer) mortar.

Separate question:

Would these guys work for FJ weapon squads?

Probably not, since they are modelled as Heer/SS soldiers, not Falschirmjaeger. I am intending to make a small report on that PSC box as soon as get my hands on it (hopefully in the next couple of days).

On the opposite, these surely would work for FJ

But You'd have to get some bases and figure out observer teams.

Might just hit up eBay and get the Battlefront box.

Or take the FJ HQ box from BF (You'll need it anyways) and put the spare miniatures (again, You'll have some spares anyways) as observers for Forged in Battle heavy weapons. FiB and BF are pretty same on the scale. with FiB being a bit for tinier and less "pumpkin heads", still they look good next to eacher. PSC and Wargames Factory Late War Germans are a bit more different story - these complement each other, but I'd not mount them on the same bases with BF.
