Thousand Sons Battleship wandering the galaxy...

Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'd like to know your opinions and any suggestions about a role-play me and a few other 40k fans (there's seven of us in all - three Imperial, two Chaos, one Eldar, and one Tau) have in my area.

Basically, the setting is in a post-Ascension galaxy, a century after the Golden Throne failed. The Emperor is now fully the God-Emperor, Lord of the Immaterium, Khorne is the God of War (duh), Tzeentch, well, me and the others toned him and Slannesh down, otherwise they're still pretty much the same, while Nurgle (less rotting) and Isha are now married. Cegorach is also part of the Imperial pantheon. The Humans and some Eldar have united and rebuilt the Imperium as the Holy Empire, though the Dark Eldar and most of the Eldar continue to oppose them. The Holy Empire has access to the Webway, but the Empire is much smaller than the original Imperium, due to depradations by Necrons, Orks, Tyranids and the Empire's greatest rival, the Tau Empire. The Tau have broken the FTL barrier, but since the Mechanicus largely fell apart in the first decades of the post-Ascension period, and was rebuilt into a less obstructive and more innovative group, though they're still somewhat close handed. The Tau have lost their technological advantage, but largely have control in the eastern half of the galaxy, with the Empire holding most of the West, with isolated but heavily fortified regions centered around Astartes homeworlds linked to the main part of the Holy Empire through the Webway.

Will post more after hearing your opinions.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

though 90% of this sounds improbable.....if it works for you and you like it then keep doing it.

You can thank the Tau fanboy for that...he makes Kroothawk look tame by comparison. Eventually we got pissed and came up with the role play above. The Holy Empire is relatively tame by comparison to the former Imperium and Chaos, though the Inquisition is still there, and is still just as feared. Sorcery is legal now, though, but Magnus and Russ keep fighting over it and only Lorgar manages to keep them apart. The Empire's a theocracy led by First Lord Guilliman, but Ascendent Lorgar is the High Priest of the Imperial Pantheon, and Ascendant Magnus commands the League of Sorcerers. There are five Warmasters, one for each Segmentum, though we haven't which Primarchs they would be. Or for that matter, whether or not we give Fulgrim control of the Order of Remembrancers. The Chaos girls (yes, those two are girls) want to, but the rest of us are a little wary, as we've already stretched the fluff very thin already. We're letting the Eldar fanboy decide on the fluff for the Imperial Eldar, the Craftworld Eldar, and the Dark Eldar, while the Tau fanboy for the Tau Empire. Guess what, the Tau Empire's starting to look suspiciously like the Galactic Republic from Star Wars.

Long story short, we're still fleshing it out, and as you said, we are making free with fluff here. But hey, there's so few of us that as long we get to have fun (even Tau boy would agree) its worth it.
