Hey guys and Gals it was my Graduation and i got some gift money from my family and i thought that i would get a predator tank and Tweek it to my liking. If any space Wolves players know The Company of Egil IronWolf , you would know that he is Vastly Bio-Mechanically enhanced by his Iron Priests and he loves to contribute ideas to them to build him his own Toys for Warfare.
and i thought this would probably be on his vast table of blueprints


The Plasma Brute

The "Plasma Brute" was one of Egil IronWolf's many creations for his great company to enjoy as they leasurely rain Plasma onto their enemies. This special Predator tank has been modified to be a medium to long - range artillery gun. Or a mobile support-Craft. Being armed with to Plasma cannon side sponsons with a custom coolant system to prevent overheating. And a large Plasma lance Cannon.

Mobile-Artillery Plasma-Lance cannon May take any of the following:
Storm Bolter..............................................5 points
Dozer Blade..............................................10 points

Coolant System:
The Plasma Brute has an extensive amount of Plasma Weaponry amongst its hull and if a system to prevent exsessive overheating and malfunction, even great danger to its crew. A large generator that cools the weapons was placed in the heart of the beast. Whenever any weapon is firing and " Gets Hot" , you may re-roll the " Gets Hot" test. But this Generator is powered by the engine and if the engine is wrecked or damaged in any way, this puts the vehicle at a great face of danger. When the vehicle is being shot at and a successful Penetrating hit is scored. and The Vehicle is either Wrecked or destroyed the Coolant system will leak into the engine and Explode. When wrecked the process is slower, once it is wrecked you must begin to roll every phase ( Movement, Shooting, and Assault) any time on that D6 roll a " 1 or 6" is scored the Vehicle blows up. the explosion radius is determined by a roll of 2D6 times 2. and is designated as Strength 5 Ap 5. and if the vehicle is wrecked before another shooting phase you must roll for the coolant system instead of shooting.


Mobile-Artillery:
This tank can either be a swift, death -striking Intrusment of war, Or a Bellowing beast from afar. in any movement phase you may choose to Set into artillery Mode. where the tank latches itself into the ground below it and become a Artillery Cannon.
when in artillery mode the main cannon ( Plasma-Lance Cannon) has its range made to 48 inches.
whenever you decide exit Artillery mode, you must sacrifice a Movement and shooting phase due to the fact that the tank is fairly a slow mover in artillery mode.



points cost: .............. I was thinking like around 150 -175 points

I don't know how much I like the overheating rules and the proceeding "blows up" rules. I also question the usefulness of the artillery mode (why not just take a whirlwind?) But I would love to see some pictures of this once you build it

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think gets hot affects tanks. Also a Lascannon Predator is 165 points (?) so with the coolant system thing and the fact that lascannons are better than plasma cannons this should probably be 140-150 points.

You are correct, get's hot has no effect on vehicles of any kind, not even something as flimsy as a buggy or a dark eldar raider.

These are silly rules.

Buy Dark angels.

Take out the Gets hot rule and make it this..

Well, for one, the english needs to be fixed. Second, the formatting is weird. Third, the rules need to be fixed:

1: is the Plasma Lance a Heavy 1 weapon?

2: the mobile artillery rule should change it from Heavy 1 to Ordnance Barrage 1.

3: Gets Hot does not affect vehicles. The Deimos Predator from Forgeworld has a better weapon (Heavy 3, Blast Plasma Cannon).

This looks a bit like the seige tank from Starcraft - weaker main turret, but it can become a very powerful artillery tank.
