I've managed to find a glitch in the Gallery Voting where if you return to the image, you can vote for it again. I can see this being abused quite easily, so I just wondered whether it's just me, or if it doesn't work, or whatever.

BlapBlapBlap: bringing idiocy and mischief where it should never set foot since 2011.

Hmm, I should try voting my own images highest rating..
Ye, works for me too.

It seems to only change the result of my votes.

I'd like it if we were actually unable to vote on our own images. I cannot see how it could be seen as anything but biased to the majority.

It's also painfully obvious as you'll see what may be at best a 6 or 7 floating around a high number. You click the votes and unsurprisingly there is a vote from its owner. It is a blight on the gallery to me as much as the jerks who would vote 1s on good models due simply to them hating whatever the subject is or those who abuse the tag system at times.

For example, when a WIP model that has no paint/is missing limbs is placed on the gallery, people love just giving it a 10/10...

So something like the GoT model by Orki, which deserves to be up there, is swamped by things like a picture of semi-assembled AoBR Terminator with primer. Yeah, it's broke.

That did cross my mind, but if you have to exploit it, you know you're awful.

Not a glitch, voting multiple times on the same image just overwrites your previous vote. It wont give visual feedback on it, but it only stores 1 vote per image from you.

People voting 10/10 on their own images is not a great situation, but allows people to resolve the issue mentioned of jerks voting 1/10. As soon as an image hits 5 votes, a more complicated voting score is calculated based on standard deviation which cuts out the troll votes anyway, so it is just a temporary problem which organically resolves itself. The vast majority of people use the gallery in an ethical way which it allows it to function well.

This is the place to report stuff like this though. I'm pretty sure the machine spirit thing is more or less an automated message thing. I guess if you wanted to keep it off the forum you could just PM Lego about it.
