What is the cheapest army to build for 2000 points that isn't GK? I would do them but someone else in my GG already took them so I was thinking either Deathwing or a MoTF Dreadspam list. Is there anyone knows what the cheapest army you can make and still have it be effective is?

Search E-Bay for a deal on a BA/IG Mech army or a SW army.

That is the cheapest way to go.

Can't BA do dreadspam? not exactly the most effective, but is pretty hilarious.

Yes BA can do Dreadspam, but IMO its not very effective especially if you put them all in Drop Pods.

Necrons are still rather cheap armies to build. 2 battle forces + crazy point heavy HQ. Done.

Orks can be found on the cheap, but, not as cheap as others. AoBR orks are an easy find on ebay. Not bad models, just, you get what they are. Buy a box or two of any kit and you will suddenly have alot of extra bits to customize.

Termie spam through Logan Wing or Death Wing should be. Death Wing more so if you pick up a majority of the termies as the AoBR ones from eBay. Though MoTF Dreadspam looks quite fun.

Deathwing. And its good in the hands of a decent player.

its an entire army of terminator. I don't think anything in the game is more forgiving.

It depends. You have to choose your units right, and use 'em together.

For example, if you want to take advantage of Deathwing Assault (Shortened to DWA from hence forth) it's a great idea to use Ravenwing Bikers. Teleport Homers for free are a godsend.

Belial is NOT a beatstick by any means. He's easily matched in combat by a min DC squad. His special Ld ability is pretty useless, seeing as every unit should either be fearless or a vehicle, but 6th may change this.

Diversify Terminators. You can take TH/SS for free, but don't forget things like CML, etc.

Land Raiders and Dreadnoughts (venerable if fluffy) is pretty good too...

Standard Bearer is a little pointless, the majority of your army is fearless anyway, DWA is awesome for first turn maneuvers (Turbo-Boost with Scout Move, drop down gunline Terminators). Belial isn't worth over-investing on, if you run him in a Hammernator unit as you set up with the Apoc and give him LC, he's pretty awesome.

So drop SB and add gunline squads. Would Assault Cannon be better than CML in those?

I'd say logan wing myself, but as a loyal son of russ i could never advise you to go DA in any way shape or form.

Banner bearer is worth it for the extra attack. Trust me it has turned the tide on many occasions.

Also if you feel you need more shooting AC/HB Predators and Typhoon Speeders help.

I wouldn't want full shooty, but would a few squads w/ SB/PF and AC be a good idea for DSing counter attacks/line reinforcement?

Follow these steps

1) Wait until 6th edition is released.
2) Watch nerd rage erupt on internet
3) Buy army off ebay for pennies on the dollar
4) Watch nerd buy new army in 4 months when he figures out 6th edition is not that bad
