lol, funny you should make this thread because I'm looking for the same thing for an actual Iron Man model kit I bought a few weeks ago. Having trouble finding the right kind of gold, was thinking of using Vallejo Model Air Gold but it doesn't look "yellow" enough...as for red I have no idea, I was thinking about just looking for a red paint made for model cars that looks right and using that (maybe something Tamiya makes but I'm not familiar with the line), then just coating the model with gloss varnish to make it shiny.

As far as the red goes, that is an actual color, I don't remember what he calls it in the movie, I think fire engine red. You should be able to find that either with Tamiya or the Model Master line from testors, they have a auto paint line.
Good luck finding the gold, I guess the worst case is try and get a sample can from a hardware store that can mix paint. They can pretty much match any color you show them now, if they don't already have colors from Marvel along with all the other specialty lines of paint made now a days. Wouldn't be to hard for you U.S. guys, not sure about everyone else.

Im afraid if you want a very good metalic scheme youre going to have to use laquers and an airbrush. One of the modeling forums I'm in has a fantastic article on this

He also did an amazing Iron Man model with Alclad
