I'm having a real hard time getting the vallejo WW2 paints for my fallschirmjager. Does anyone use a different paint company? I specifically need the German field grey and the armorial paints (dark yellow and Africa) .

Even a close GW paint is fine. I'm starting a new army so wont have a matching problem.

Coat d"Arms produces WW2 military range - I am using their Field Grey and Grey Green actually. As for the armor, I still have the Citadel paints - start with the Iyanden Darksun Foundation, then Desert Yellow and Bleached Bone.

Looking to trade away 15mm Forged in Battle Pumas (still in the box).

Thx Cain, I'll have to look into Coat d"Arms. Im not sure I can get that here.

One problem Im having is Ive never seen the WW2 color to know how to match it. Another thing is GW just came out with a whole new paint range, so paints like lyanden darksun yellow dont exist anymore. If it does, its called something different and doesnt quite match.

Like I said Its a new project so Im not trying to match prior colors. I just wanna use the same set of colors over the whole army. Im afraid If i use lyanden darksun, I'll have problems matching it if I run out.

Anyone use any other companies? Does testors have a WW2 line?

Big P will correct me if I am wrong, but there were no such thing as "the correct" Dunkelgelb. Units were issued with what was avaiable, then they mixed it with other substances, so I believe the visible result was quite different among various formations.
About the GW new range - true, but perhaps You are still able to get them in some "rogue trader" shops. If not, Army Painter produces the Desert Yellow spray can. As for Coat d'Arms, Maelstrom Games have their range and they do ship worldwide.

Cain is pretty much spot on there.

The RAL colours could, and did vary, both due to factory batches being made in different places with varying pigment and in field application where the paint came as a solid lump and was thinned with petrol. Thus different rations of paint to thinner gave different colours. While the colours were fixed, local variation in batches did occur.

I would advise using Vallejo and they are easily ordered from Mealstrom Games who do free shipping if you spend over £20.
