I just finished my Storm Talon(except the base) it took me quite a while to decide if i will paint it black or green. but the decision was easy when i pictured it along with some ravenwing landspeeder...i hope it will be an inspiration for any other DA player

I really like it. The edge-highlighting is well done and I like the metal you used on the engine.

On the front of the enging, was that just a basecoat, black wash, highlight?

The back of the engine looks like you did a copper highlight over the silver parts.

thanks! for the engines i used boltgun metal washed with badab black and highlighted it with mithril silver. on the back i added diluted chestnut ink

The model looks great...but I do have one issue. If I recall correctly, isn't the Stormtalon for Codex: Space Marines armies only? That tidbit aside, it's a really outstanding paintjob!

Ah, I believe you're thinking of Deathwing, not Ravenwing.
Two different things

but no, Deathwing, the DA army, cannot use Stormtalons... Which is kind of BS imo but I'm sure that'll change when the new DA Dex comes out.

Very nice looking model, I also like how you can see into the cockpit, I am always too lazy to paint that and just paint the canopy black or whatever color i want lol...

That sir is rather gorgeous, i'm not massively sold on the model there are a few bits i plan to change, but do you have a step by step on the black method you used, as a DA player myself i have tonnes of Ravenwing bits and being able to make the black look that good would cheer me up immensely!

That's what I was curious about...I know both Ravenwing and Deathwing are part of the DA...that's why I mentioned the fact that the Stormtalon wasn't authorized to be used in the Ravenwing army, since it's part of the Codex: Dark Angels. While I feel it would make sense that the Ravenwing would have the Stormtalon (being fast strikers), not being a C: SM army should preclude its use in the army.
