Hey guys, my friends and I have been talking about getting terrain so we don't have to use baby toys, random architect models, and a foam board hut that I made. However, we don't have a ton of time to build/paint, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any decently priced pre-built/painted terrain.

Battlefield in a Box is one I recommend as its the only one I have purchased and I happen to be quite pleased with it.

You could try this place...

it's an ebay store and he makes some really nice terrain. I have a lot of his stuff for my table ie: desert rock formations and his palm trees with shrubs. I recommended him to a few friends of mine from the local gw for their own tables and they were impressed as well. Pretty inexpensive but high quality. Best of luck!!

i really like the GW scenery but its pretty expensive... what you could do is make plaster cast building blocks and make your own ruins and / or buildings

This, +1. I have a few pieces of their stuff, and I'd say it's pretty outstanding. Not excessively heavy, but still plenty sturdy, with a decent base paintjob. Their terrain typically includes a couple small baggies of flock to customize the terrain with, too.

If you want small pieces of scatter terrain, as well, Pegasus Hobbies have switched a lot of their terrain accessories over to pre-paints (crates, barrels/oil drums, and the like).

And the plastic building they make are pretty awesome. Not full prepaints but simple to paint up and use.

Pegasus Hobbies has some excellent scenery. It is sturdy, easy to assemble, and very nice.
Games Workshop scenery is still the best deal they make. Pound for pound, you get more from them than you do out of the same price of minis. It is a bit fiddly at first, but you get the hang of it rather quickly.

I'm seconding pegasus.

Buy kits and buy multiples, their stuff is awesome.

As for GW scenery, i whole-heartedly disagree. I find at that price, I can mill out five tables worth of terrain with my own effort and foamcore, cardstock, and craft foam. That said, the Imperial sector--the all in one box--IS in fact a great deal.

Well the US$ to pound conversion makes it less attractive but the Amera vac-mold stuff is pretty cool. Because it's so simple it is surprisingly sturdy. I have a LOT of pics in various posts in my blog: http://atticwars40k.blogspot.com/
